Mate settle down.

You are correct, no one has the right to judge you based on your tastes but the fact that you have decided you can judge the OP for his tastes has turned this thread into a crapfight and is the motivating factor behind the attacks on you.

The saying "Do unto others as you would have done to yourself" is something that you could really benefit from. Have a think about that.

There is a guy I know who owns a AC Cobra kit Car , if you were at the Beenleigh car show a few weeks ago you would have seen it. It puts out close to 600hp apparently..
Now this is blasphemy of the highest order...it has a 350 chev with a supercharger....
So putting a Ls1 in a AU is no big deal to me...just don't spoil a TE or TS with one .
Or a AC Cobra.......for goodness sake...

another suggestion, why not convert from the 5 litre to the 5.6 stroker instead out of the ts50

363 stroker Dart block Edelbrock heads and a gutts full of good stuff...650 + NA HP any one :

I have thought about it... The cost would be similar to supercharging, turbocharging, crate motor, or putting in an LS1.... "STROKING" a motor is definetly not cheap! How does 15k sound for a "decent" stroker.... then add another 5k for the problems that "will" occur...

However as RG suggested, im actually contemplating a 331 low comp stroker with a supercharger right now!

The reason i suggested an LS1, apart from being easy to mod, is that a written off VY SS is sitting on my neighbours block of land untouched for sale... He offered me parts REAL cheap.... So im still contemplating that, im just trying to figure out the ECU probs ill be encountering!

That 363 is pure sex Whoosh. redauxr8, i can now see your temptation with the smashed SS next door mate. But as RG said, a low comp 331 with the addition of a blower would be a tough set up.

For advice on the wiring side of things, there's 2 mobs I can think of that may be bale to help:

FTG - they salvage late model Fords and holdens and have transplanted many different engines into cars they didn't come from (mostly within brand, but across brands shouldn't pose them any issues)

GenTech (in canberra) - they are Ford and holden tuning "Specialists" so may have some idea about putting a motor from one into the other - ask for Kit.

Obviously any conversion is going to require some extent of wiring mods (except a 347), any idea on what a 363 or blown 331 are worth? If money was no option then yes a blown V8 ford engine of any size would be nice. For an example LS1 engines from $2,900 and LS2- from $4,500. Now what can be acheived for the same money from a 5.0 windsor?- second hand capa unit maybe?? On a side note, how many Ford bodied hot rods run chev motors?? To the OP i say DO IT!!

Man i know were u coming from but that is just blasphemy at its best LOL

I was having a rant on the coyote & boss engine's being crap and praise Holden for using old GM pushrod technology, as its cheaper in regards to performance mods.

If u have a VL commadore then go 4 ur life and throw in a LS engine but dont do it 2 a ford.

Check out my ranting in the last 2 pages LOL

me personally would love to see this for the whole different/curious factor.
i hate commodores (usually, like ve's) but theres some that look good and
unfortunatly even my dads vn cains my au.

but anyways, if your a real car enthusiast it doesnt matter what anyone else
drives because they have the same interests. cars.

hell i have had 10 celicas, one with a RB30E in it, another (current) with
a 1GGTE (twin turbo supra), and me and a mate are building another one
using a 308. i get all the time for doing this stuff but screw em.

point is, everyone has different taste. i say go for it

I have seen a silver XT BA falcon with a ls motor in it. Fits like factory, he didnt have to modify any body components. used a c4 3 speed auto, has twin pipes out the back and I was quite surprised sounded quite good. I have priced up a six speed manual and 5.7 litre conversion with loom and computer for 5,500 bucks. all you would have to do is put it in and work out what needs to run what.
Cheaper then fart arsing around with stroking the engine. I've thought about putting one in the el ghia, why not, the windsor costs a metric to get to move.

By god! Did Ford passion just die overnight? lol

In regards to the more for less comment.
LS engine approx $3000
Fitting and all components approx $2000
Then if you want power your going to have to mod it Approx $2000
There is hassle of going over the pits etc

For $7000 even on a Windsor would get some decent gains.

lollol, 3 grand for a ls1, by god, could spend that money plus conversion money plus mods money and mod your own windsor??

7 grand would get you a decent quarter mile, exhuast, flash tuned. diff gears etc

twin throttle bodys, some engine work,

IN THE LONG RUN WHICH IS GOING TO BE THE CHEAPEST THING TO DO, AND WHAT IS GOING TO BE THE MONEY TAKER, LS1 OR WINDSOR

I had previously suggested a forced induction on the Windsor engine, but having been to gazzanats and seeing those LS series engines slotted into just about everything and how well they perform..I'm inclined to tell you to JUST DO IT. Don't listen to the nitwit polluting this thread(you know who you are) it's not his money or car. Whoopdi do so it's not a ford engine..so what if it's not? The earth won't open up and swallow you for blaspheming. If it's cheap, logical and east to slot that chev motor in, then do it. We all know they are by far one of the best BFYB engines around.

You're always going to have chumps telling you to keep it ford etc etc. 9 times out of ten, they're sitting behind a computer in another state. Fat chance they have of stopping you doing what you want.

Get to and do as you like. It's your desicion not ours.

Yeh you will get some decent gains but if u spent an extra 3k on head for for a LS engine it would be a weapon.

So say 10-12K as things do pop up you would have a pretty quick car and be super realiable
