He hit you from behind, his insurance company is going to buy you a nice new kit or repair the one you already have to the state it was in before he decided to kiss your ***

Maybe he was testing his unrestricted speed limiter.

Most people never get glass because they believe it's going to explode when hit. Looks like it held up fairly well.

Sorry to see this happen to you. Lets hope your not out of action too long

These things can be deceiving can't they? I had someone hit me from behind in a 95 Corolla hatch. Their car was absolutely destroyed from the front, couldn't even start the engine again as the radiator was up against the engine. My car, other than some scratches on the back bumper looked perfect. Got it repaired and ended up being something along the lines of 4k damage to mine!

Looks like there's a lot more damage hiding underneath your car dude.

2 to 3 weeks repairs and a mid to high four figure sum quote I reckon.

As mentioned there could be more damage than you 1st thought.
One thing most people overlook is that a hit like that can force the tailshaft into the gearbox at the input shaft causing metal shavings to drop into the box. I know people that it happened to, as well as working for BTR for sometime. These metal shavings then grind your nice expensive gears some 3 months or so later, and so a seemingly unrelated gearbox happens that was caused by being rear-ended. The way around this is to make sure that the insurance company is made aware of this potential additional item so if it does eventuate it is covered and you don't wear the cost that this peanut caused you.

there seems to be a few posts about his speed limiter in this thread and i was part of the thread the other day and i could be wrong here but i dont think having a speed limiter or not having a speed limiter would have stopped the guy running up his A$$ i could be wrong though

true but my point was more in reference to his obvious dissregard to the road rules and the safety of other road users so as i stated the roads will be a safer place without him on the road. the young driver may have been negligent but the anger of eXi7w0unD is hard to really understand! is this not the pot calling the kettle black?

make sure that the panel beater checks behind the bar. i had the same damage in an accident once and although it looked ok, there was structural damage behind the bar!
