I run NGK XR6 plugs gapped to .8mm on my duel fuel AU. Mines a Xcab and had the stepper motor issue (disconnected when I got it) but it was the O2 sensor that was shagged, got a second handy from a wrecker for $20 but have now replaced it with a new one (so I know its good). Run Spiral core 9mm leads also. Runs friggin great, never misses a beat. got 98.4rwkw on the dyno on LPG when it was stock last year.
even squeels of the line too!!!! mines a tickford factory gas setup so has the ECU with the lpg maps. oh just had another thought...... check the pcv valve as the tend to stuff up and drop the end off sucking in vacuum all the time. must get the grey AU one as they have a smaller hole (stops sucking in oil)

Well i recrimped the terminal yesterday... and surprise surprise... something new is wrong...
Car started with about 218DTE, by the time i got it backed out and up the driveway, it was 186DTE... there was also the fans running on cold and with the A/C turned off... yet i was getting refridgerated air on my legs with the A/C off and using my face vents only... plus there is a MASSIVE flat spot... i was told it would be minor!... i had to switch it back to ULP just to drive to my sisters for lunch... any suggestions? new O2 sensor should be here soon...

check the aircon is actually switched off.. I know the switches stuff up all the time on AU's and lock the aircon on.... easy enough to check by lifting the bonnet and checking next time it happens. at what rpm is the flat spot occuring???

just had a thought, was the flat spot there when the car was cold??? not warmed up???
also check the pcv valve as they tend to crap themselves and fall apart sucking in vacuum all the time and would really screw up mixtures from idle up

another thought.....changed the thermostat recently???? they modify them so they flow for the LPG convertor. on the 2 stage thermostats must drill a hole thru it (top and bottom sections), other wise you convertor freezes due to no flow.... might idle ok but forget about accelerating. easy enough to check, just run your engine at 2500 rpm and watch your convertor freeze up. (turn white)

I don't want to worry you too much, but my flat spot turned out to be a totally rooted cooling system. All new radiator, overflow tank, and every single water carrying hose has now been replaced, and car runs really well.

just read you build up sheet from start to finish.......
I was dumbfounded...... As you are aware I have an Xcab I bought in melbourne $1700 on ebay and has been pretty dam reliable (20k so far) 821k on the clock and still going. mine was originally a 6 seater as well (foot brake is a dead givaway) but now has a fairmont interior. pity you bought such a dodgy car but there is dodgy people out there. I will only by Ex Vic cabs for that reason. Cos they are yellow they cant be dodgied unless they paint them. And I wont buy it full stop. only easy way out if you have mates in SA bring it here and and sell it. wont need a full inspection they just check ID numbers and you can rego it here. easy as

Check the converter, it could have crap built up in it.
Recently saw a ba that was an absolute dog on lpg, overhauled the converter and cleaned it all out and serviced it, car ran like new. Try finding a dedicated lpg specialist and ask him to quote on overhauling the converter. Cheers

The convertor was replaced just before christmas and has hardly been used due to issue's... but i spose, crap can still build up in there... :(
It seems to run fine, until is stalls... and thats the main issue i'm trying to get right... Got just under 2 weeks to get it sorted, as i need it to take to Geelong... :(

How old is the coil pack? When it stalls, is it back firing?

It has back fired once or twice whilst trying to get it re-started after stalling... and on sunday when it was full of carby cleaner :P
No idea about the coil packs... leads are less than 10,000kms and are 9.0mm Eagles... plugs same age and are NGK gapped to suit LPG... Convertor doesnt seem to be freezing... as i drove it cold most the way to work on LPG (started on LPG too..)

I cant figure out my car...
Reset ECU (disconnected battery for an hour)... reconnected and test drove... nearly half hour later and back at home... didnt stall once... i even fanged it trying to make it stall... small dead spot, and a slight studder once... but not stall... even took it lap around the Mountain and nothing... Want to change my thermostat too... what is the suggested one for dual fuel? BTW... everyone should atleast drive the track the opposite way around and at night atleast once... it is such a strange feeling, and the view is awesome!

Just looking at your under bonnet pic..... the stepper motor is pretty close to the exhaust and the hose looks pretty tight to the mixer... wonder if it is getting heat effected.
I would try another stepper motor and lengthen that hose another 6 inches so the stepper motor leans away from the exhaust. just had to replace mine as it was tripping out everytime I floored it. it would kinda drop power and had to flutter the accelerator to get power back (bout 5 sec) but put another one I found from a car I stripped and it works fine.
