Aftermarket parts for the Fiesta ST

I know it's really new over here, but I can barely find any info on any other Fiesta forums from overseas on what I'm looking at! Thought maybe someone here could chime in.

I'm looking to switch up my wheels to a set from Ford Racing. These ones to be exact:

Anyone know by chance whether these will fit? I'm pretty sure they have the right bolt pattern (4x108), but are the offsets good?

Also, I'm wanting to switch up my gear knob for something more weighted. TWM makes one for the Focus ST that I want. Any idea if the Fiesta shares the same thread size and pattern as the focus for the gear knob/shifter?

Stud pattern should be carried over from previous Fiestas 4x108. Offset im a not too sure, but i would also like to know also, as i have a set of 17inch Focus MP3 rims i wish to put on. Those ford racing ones you linked im sure will fit and an excelent choice. Maybe when you pic yours up this weekend, take a wheel off and it should say the offset on the back of the stokes. Then share for all of us. THANKS.

I have the Chrome + Leather one and used in the Fiesta XR4 and WT Fiesta so i can confirm they are a direct fit.

Question becomes....do I go for these and stay with the same tyre size, look for something a bit wider (7.5") and throw on some wider tyres (215), or go up to 18s?

Opinions?

i have 17x7.5's on mine and the 205/40r17 tyre is stretched on the rim but looks good, there is room on the back to go wider but in 17's you would need a 215/35r17 or 225/35r17 but they are a rare size
i don't think 18's will help and just make it more unstable, less grip and a harsh ride

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I wasn't keen on going 18s to be honest. With a drop and a low profile tyre, I think 17s are more than fine.

Of course running the stock Bridgestone Potenzas doesn't make the grip superb haha. I'm going to try and run them bare as fast as I can...get some Michelin PSS's on!

Make sure you run any changes with your insurance company.
If it isn't listed then you run the risk of them refusing you cover after you have an accident.

I got t-boned by a car coming through a stop sign once and the repairers told me that the insurance would have been refused if I was at fault because I was due for we tyres.
I had only the day before rang around for new ones, but the insurance company would not have cared about that.

OK, so couple updates here. Received my TWM M1 Abrams in the mail today. Overall, it's a fantastic mod, and makes the shift even better than it already was with the Mountune Quick Shift kit. It just slots into gear so smoothly now, yet still has resistance, although now the resistance is more to do with the weight of the knob rather than the short shift kit.

A few observations:
1. This knob is heavy. I mean, it's a full pound.
2. The stock knob is actually fairly heavy itself. Having taken it off and held it, it's....dense. Not bad to be honest.
3. Adjusting the TWM to the right height AND getting the reverse lockout to work is a bit of a trial and error. Took me a while to get it to fit right, yet still have the engraving on top line up. That said, getting it into reverse is a bit harder now for me due to the height of the knob. I've made it sit lower down to reduce the overall height, but have taken away rome for the lockout to move up.

Again though.....love this now. I may have found the perfect shift!

Would it be worth getting a K&N filter? Or better off waiting out to see if Mountune is a go ahead with Ford Oz?

The MP215 kit uses a K&N filter. Comes with it. I can't see any risk in changing the filter.

I'm not holding my breath on Mountune coming here. I wager it won't actually. Ford Oz will never take on that risk.

Mountune has been asking Ford Oz since the WS. We were emailing Mountune back in 2009 for the WS mods, and Mountune were already getting the run around by Ford Oz back then. I'll cross my fingers tho.

What kind of power gains could you expect from the Milltek catback exhaust system? Is it worth spending close to $1000 on?

Also what are some quick/ cheaper mods that people are recommending?

No official power gains are listed. I was chasing a racier exhaust note though - that was my motivation. I'd say you will get better bang for buck out of a tune if/when they come out.

Putting on a less restricting air filter such as a K&N is probably your first cheap step.

Yeah, I definitely want a K&N... Esspecially because we have no "set in stone" news on mountune / Ford Oz.

It's the same one I have on order as well, so I think we're all good.

Steeda sells an airbox that looks to be the exact same one that Mountune ships with their MP215 package. They responded to me saying "it should fit but we can't guarantee it since we don't have a car to test with".

The US customers are starting to take delivery of their cars now, so it's only a matter of time before more stuff starts rolling out.

I've been trying to get through to Mountune. I was speaking to David Moore over there, and all of a sudden they're ignoring me now. I have a dealer lined up over here to help me with the ECU flash. Mountune uses ETIS as well, so it shouldn't be a problem. Now they won't respond to me.

Please don't ask me which dealer it is. I can't disclose! Also, please note this is not covered by warranty through the dealer. I'm doing this at my own risk. I'm just using them to get the tune on my car. Assuming Mountune responds to me. I may just have to wait for the mTune. That said, the MP215 kits are on a crazy backorder from what I can tell. Mountune wasn't prepared for the demand.

Yeah it's a custom. First one they've ever done, so it took a while. Lots of welds and cuts haha.

I'm sure you'll find the price is higher than going with something like Mongoose or Milltek, but the quality is top notch, it's completely matched to my car, 200 cell cat, and, if I find it too loud or too soft, will be adjusted free or charge. So I really get a system that is exactly as I wanted, versus a pre-fabbed system made from a mould.

If you're in Sydney, I'm happy to get together and let you listen to it. I can't seem to find a GoPro to borrow!

Ah. It was $1200 installed. I don't mind paying extra to support local stuff. All their systems are fabricated in Bathurst.

It's a cat-back only. No point in changing the DP. And no error codes or issues at all.

I was wondering how you guys are finding the brakes? I watched a youtube vid with some guy in red fiesta going up a mountain. driving pretty hard said there was some brake fade early on...?

Cant comment too much as I have only done 150km and cant drive till Ford source me a RE050A to replace one of my now destroyed tyre..

Just so everyone knows, its very difficult to source the same Potenza tyre for our Fiesta ST's..

I think the brakes were pretty decent and more than adequate for spirited street driving..
