I can't believe the attitudes of some people in relation to wearing a seat belt. It certainly isn't hard to do, doesn't make you feel uncomfortable (if on correctly) and is not exactly dangerous in itself. As a kid the first thing I was taught when in a car was to put on my seat belt...what is the allure to not wearing one?

Sometimes the brightest people are well, also the dumbest.

I am actually uncomfortable riding in a car (as passenger or driver) without a seatbelt on.

I even find myself belting up when reversing out of the driveway fer chrissakes.

The thing that is most annoying is that his premise that by not wearing a seatbelt he is not infringing on the rights of others.

In my mind if someone is driving without a seat belt is in an accident and gets thrown from a car any number of things could happen. For example:

They are thrown from the car and their body goes through the windscreen of another car killing the occupants. Thats infringing on the rights of others.

ive tried driving without a seatbelt once just to see hwy my brother always does it, and to tell you the truth, i felt real uncomfortable. you dont realise how much you move about when cornering without your seatbelt on.

people who dont wear seatbelts are just asking for it IMO, granted some laws are just plain stoopid but geez people! wear your godamn seatbelts

Best part about it is that his friends, who were wearing seatbelts survived the crash with non life threatning injuries.
I to feel real uncomfortable without a seat belt on, just driving out of the driveway whilst putting it on up the road feels weird. You kind of feel un-easy in your seat.

That Darwin was on to something. I wonder if the people that got behind him on his rant about seat belts now buckle up?

It's just plain irresponsible not to wear your seatbelt.
You are at risk of injury to yourself, but also injury to other people in the car. Basically you are a flying projectile if you hit something and depending on the direction of the impact you could injure other people in the car.
I make a simple rule.
I don't move an inch in my car untill everyone has their seatbelt on

Bear in mind a lot of seppos are paranoid about losing their freedom.

But still, you'd have to be a ******** not to wear a seat belt. I've done it a few times, it's just weird.

Interesting. The same argument comes around with helmets for riding motorbikes. I seem to recall that some guy shot himself in California when the helmet laws came in, as he couldn't stand to ride his bike with one on.

Pretty sad that someone excelling at college is so pedantically stupid about a seatbelt that it costs him his life.
