Its just plain stoopid .....
If ford are doin great deals on the XR6T, which bang for buck sticks it right up the holden camp, why aren't they parading the special price

Sack all the advertising guys there and sack the sales team also
They have the product, yet the team behind the product is pathedic ....

the product you talk about is only under the hood.

package wise, the vf is a much better option.

quite surprised at the photos of the front of both cars. The XR6 looks better, the SS looks funny around the headlight area

The VF SS is certainly not a handsome car. The Mk2 XR6 T is miles ahead. The interior comparison however is another story.

Agree that FG is a nicer looking rig externally.

I have a big soft spot for G6ETs lowered about an inch....slick.

although the interior is very important in a new car.....there is no way id settle for that slightly fugly looking ss...espescially if itssposed to have a new gearbox, new tyres, and weight reduction and it still gets its **** handed to it. Its a performance car...its sposed to look tough and go fast.
Falcon for the win in afraid.
Oh and holden really cant design steering wheels.....

What's up with the Falcon's high seating position though?

I like a nice low slung seat.

Manual downshifts are extremely quick and done with a delicious rev-matching blip that does a good impersonation of a DSG. Upshifts are slower, of course, but the way it slurs from gear to gear is a delight.

Real men drive manuals.

I've been a fan of the new Commodore interior ever since it was revealed, but I'm starting to think the Falcon's cabin looks more mature. The more I compare them, the more I think there's too much going on inside the Commodore. The Falcon's interior is simpler, yes, but that's something that I've always appreciated about Aussie interiors- no nonsense, easy to use, not overstyled. VF's interior looks like it came out of a quirky Nissan or Hyundai.

I know times change and the Interiors and tech advancements move on and upwards, but I have absolutely no problems with my ZF auto and leather clad interior of my GT, I love the blue light at night, the smell of the leather when I open the door, and even that stupid little man that walks across the screen, It maybe getting a bit long in the tooth, but when I strap myself in an press that gaudy red starter button I can feel all the endorphyns in my brain pull my mouth into a great big smile!!!!!!!

The steering wheel is poxy in FG, and you get the same taxi one across all variants.

Something I've noticed about Hyundai interiors, in particular, is that they always look really good in photos, but then when you see them in person they look more cheap and nasty. Maybe the Ho-den is like that?

I always noticed the same thing, that's why I will wait to see the commodore interior in the flesh not the photoshop promo shots.

I have to agree with the above comment. The front end look simple yet not overdone and works a lot better that the sports and Calais models. same can be said about the rear end, the diffuser with hidden exhaust tip and no spoiler work the best with the new tail lights.

The base Evoke model is the pick of the bunch when you look at bang for buck in terms of standard kit.

The only thing it needs in my option is a set of nicer 17" wheels with a bit less tyre side wall and it would look a lot better.

I can't look at it and not think this:

GM are going down the Asian style road for me. Ford are going down the Euro road. Can't wait to see the 2014 Falcon.

I've noticed that before, when everyone was oo-ing and aah-ing over the release pics, later on someone posted "normal" pics up of the interior (taken in a carpark or something) and the s****yness of the interior just wasn't there.

I don't like the Evoke that much but I know where you are going. There is a hint of Jag XF in the Evoke's more subtle, cleaner styling (than SS). The Jag however is a very handsome, sophisticated looking vehicle while Evoke looks like its throw back runt cousin. Price difference is relative of course.

I still think the Falcon looks great inside and I too like the more simple approach.

I also prefer the ride/handling balance of the Falcon, the SS might handle a but better around a track but the Falcon has the best balance for our roads.

Funny that. I actually think the FG steering wheel is one of the most comfortable designs Ford has ever put in the Falcon.

Jury OUT till I actually sit in a VF, but based on the above pics, the FG looks far more classy.

Just a set of nice fog lights and maybe a better paint choice and it would make a nice clean looking SS

I agree the Falcon seems uniform where the Commodore seems allover the shop with buttons and knobs sprouted around the place. I still like the features and the look of new VF interior but they could of packaged it better imo. But i guess its the price to pay when you dive into the global parts bin
