While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

Ok Folks, Its been decided the weekend of the 9th, 10th and 11th of November Members of B-Series Australia will converge on the Seaside town of Coffs Harbour.

The Majority of the group will be staying at Park Beach Holiday Park. In Cabin style accomodation. http://www.parkbeachholidaypark.com.au/

Close to all major gear in coffs, and walking distance from shops, beach, and restaurants...
If we take a cabin (or three), and pile everyone in, it works out to be $20 per head, per night for accommodation. Thats for a fully air conditioned cabin, with showers and full facilities. The works, have a look at website...

It's not the Ritz, or Hyatt, but good accommodation.

Including 3 (worst case scenario) tanks fuel, accommodation and the rest, you would comfortably get away with this weekend for $400.00. Thats food, booze and spending. The whole lot, lock stock and barrell.

Note: All AFF Members are more then welcome!

For information about Whats what in Coffs look here: http://www.coffscoast.com.au

I will sort a cruise out, and email some family up there, see if they know of anything decent we can get up to...

Depends on what people want...

Ok,

I have sent a few emails off. I have sent one to book accommodation for 9th,10th and 11th November. At this stage, I will book 3 cabins, and see what happens.

I have also asked about onsite parking........

Will have a rough idea of a few things going on up there, and a cruise plotted out in next few days..

Cheers

Having some issues with caravan park. Noise rules and parking issues..

We are now looking into serviced apartments..

Rooms which have two bathrooms and can sleep 5 to 6 people. Cost is $50 per night. So $100 for accommodation.

This takes the initial prive of $400 to near $450.

What are peopl'e opinions on this? We would be looking to arrange accommodation fairly shortly.

Cheers

Starting to sound a little expensive.....................No wait!..................Black Spot Inner Circle is $76 a bottle in Brisbane.
$450 is still cheap enough for me......

Im not fussed, should be a great weekend, plus I havent had a decent holiday/time away from anything for a long time. 450 is nothing, will put in for time off during the week.

So its the weekend of the 9th 10th and the 11th?

Grrrrrr @ Mick!!!

this is also another event you have organised for the same time as the Motorkhana's at Gympie .... this is a 2 day event too!

Luckily I will be in Victoria by then and this will not affect me at all .... pmsl!

If this becomes an annual event, I will book my name in advance for 2008!

Daryl.
