Default NSW - WSID 12th September 2007

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone of yous are racing next Wednesday (12th September) at WSID. Some XR4s most likely gonna have a go at the 400m sprint. So come out to WSID if you can, it'd be a good hangout.

Transcoolers made way for SLs, SSLs, shocks and Insurance :(
No star gazing, and parentals will be out so I'll have nothing better to do than come out for a geeze. Assuming the rain holds off. And I have a Helmet, just in case ;)

I will go for a squize on the 12th, rain put me off for tonight.

Update, my XR6T got retuned tonight, has 314rwkws, compared to 328.2rkws when first tuned but less power for safety reasons, STOCK ENGINE, but power at lower revs/speed has increased :
The way the car drives now is awesome with this tune, Spiro is a genius I tell you.

So if I feel like running, I might but not counting on it, will need slicks this time round

Thinking about it, I realised that with the factory tune running 14.61 (14.5xx had I not hit the rev limiter in first) and a very poor 2.3 60' foot (the car is capable of 2.1 with new(ish) tyres), then I'm guessing 14.3 on factory tune in half decent conditions. Driving the car this afternoon with the 98 tune it feels faster than last night... weird.
For the guys who weren't there, I had 3 consecutive runs with 98 custom tune. All runs were low 14.7's with 2.30 60' times. Then I tried the factory tune and got 14.61 with 2.3 60' (also hit the limiter in first on that run). As I said earlier, running with the 98 tune this afternoon, I noticed it had alot of grunt.
Rears tyres really need to be changed lol. Hopefully tomorrow...

why does my car seem to get faster each time at willowbank but others seem to get slower this is confusing me, thinking it may have something to do with custom tunes, this is about the 5th time ive read bang good time then next meet a little slower and next met a little slower again, not meaning to have a go or anything just an observation, but still they are good times still being had

WTF do post counts have to do with 1/4 mile times? :

When were the "records" set? Set in Jan and bettered in Feb?

They are wondering why their times are =/< than 0.1sec slower, the temp can affect this as much as any other variable. For all we know they have put on 20kg :togo:

You still havent made a point? You can still run good times in hot temps but an increase in temps can still cause slower temps

the most common reason times get slower,is to do with the RA or relative altitude.in winter up here in brissy the RA is usualy around 500 or lower excellent for running PB's,but in summer it can get as high as 3000.the difference between running @500 compared to 3000 is .5+ of a sec slower down the quarter .also your mph will be down a couple of mph too.

My car had 5 visits to WSID and each and every time I came home with a pb. But now the last couple of visits, I am going backwards you're not wrong. But at least I know whats causing it. I was mislead by someone (not on AFF) about my tyres a while ago and didn't think of changing them. I'm pretty sure its the tyres.
lol Jas, don't want to put any pressure on you, but I think you'll experience the same thing. I hope you don't but I think everyone is bound to have a bad run. Good luck champ.

Re conditions, I reckon the denser (cooler) the air the faster one goes. Quite simple.

Fair enough, as said just an observation, hopefully this will not happen to me (touch wood) but undoubtedly it will at some stage.
