Default NSW: Skid Pan Day

Who is interested in a skid pan day?

Basically a day at eastern creek or oran park??? Whilt having fun and free time on a skid pan, the day is driver education with different courses and events aimed at car control... Basically.

To get the numbers for a full private day, we could invite all AFF, and clubs as well to get the numbers, ie a full ford day in for a wet slippery ride...

Who is intested? If we get the numbers, i will get the day happening..

Cheers

Is that where they put banana skins on the pad to make it slippery? If so count me in!
Also in answer to your question I choose option 2. :dr_Evil:

You'd have to book a fair while in advance for eastern creek too... we booked ours in Jan/Feb this year.

Ours was around the $200 mark per vehicle with one driver. Extra driver pays half of that.

e.g. 1 car/1 driver = $200, 1 car/2 drivers = $300

Not sure if thats special car club pricing. Check out the Eastern Creek Raceway website. Plenty of info there. Its run by the Australian Rac Drivers Club I think.

See what the interest is to go ahead..

I would probably use a private company first time round, and talk to them, see what we can do to "customise" the day...

Following the success, we would then go our own privately...

Also, you guys bring the Bananas, I will bring the Dexron III!!! lol

Mate do it, I'm in for sure, I want to learn and be educated on how to handle a XR6t sideways, I know how, but I could be better with right training.

I plan on drifting the tank some time soon, so this would be great :

Count me in regardless of dollars...within reason

Sounds pretty sweet to me. But Is it a sort of educational thingo? Im not much of a sideways bloke and cant say I've done it much :/
And yep the Creek is probably the best part. Oran is probably closer for me but its too far away for everyone else, the creek is nice and central.

The day is very very educational mate. Thats the point, in saying that, you have a hell of a lot of fun as well, and learn things about your car you never knew.

Experience is not the issue, as this is why we do these days. After about 15 mins, you won't want to stop going sideways, don't worry, they will teach you...... :

If people are also interested i know a company that do rally courses. Basically you pay for a half day, and drive their ful rally spec (GT, Commodores, Evo's WRX's), around the dirt, and they teach you how to drive rally, sideways, on the dirt... It's the full deal here.
Oh. whilst this is a course, the starting speeds in these cars is 100km's per hour, sideways...

120km's hour, sideways in the dirt, with the boot into a big V8 rallying...

Sounds like awesome fun! Oh and btw, is this skid pan day the defensive driver training level 1 course? Because I've already done that one (awesome fun and very educational!) and I'm about to do the level 2 course as well.

Hmmmm, I want to thrash an Evo in dirt please, and maybe a WRX too, oh and what the hell, anything they give me

I was once in Toyosprts Car Club of NSW few years back, did some kharnacrosses with them, and small club rally events....Nothing beats going sideways in dirt at 100km/hr. Not when you hit a tree at 120......

Needless to say, will be fun : So when/where is this happening, any time/dates sorted?

Ok, conversations are happening and wheels are in motion, so watch this space.

The more cars we get, the cheaper it is, the cost of the day covers, insurance, instructors, skid pan hire itself, and most importantly - catering

Catch 22, as we need to have a good number, not be to crowded and get everyone on the pan as much as possible.

I need to start getting a firm idea of numbers too, please.

This day will extend to all NSW clubs, and AFF members as well. This will happen when more information is at hand..

In the meantime, can I please get everyone's name on the list below?
Please only add yourself if you are a definite.

Cheers

Is this the advanced driver training course?
http://www.eastern-creek-raceway.com...r_training.htm

If it is, is it stage 1 or stage 2?

Or is it something different altogether?
