Default 1999 festiva fuel filter

Hey guy, a mate is having issues with his festi. We think its the fuel filter. Its a 1.3 l manual. Where abouts is the fuel filter? Under half a tank it starts chugging and misfiring, and everything spark related has been replaced, and the fuel pump, but the mechanic didnt check the filter.
Thanks people

G'day,

Under the bonnet near the LHS strut mount. Make sure you install it the correct way (it apparently has been know to be put in the wrong way (not me)).

Make sure you reduce the fuel pressure first by either disonnecting the fuel pump relay somewhere under the dash (I could never find it) or unplugging the fuel pump located on the fuel tank under the cargo area matting then leting the engine stall a few times. Be aware there may still be a little bit of pressure in the lines when disconnecting the hoses from the filter.
