Default Aussie or UK diff?

Hey all,

Been sussing out the possible reconditioning of my diff...people are asking whether or not it is made in Australia or the U.K. I have no idea how to tell.

What's the difference and how do you tell from the outside?

Lionel.

does the centre go in from the front or from the rear?

when you look at the diff frommthe rear of the car ...does it have tin plate with bolts
or is it smooth?

if it has a tin plate its a salisbury type of diff 'atlas'

if its smooth and the bolts are at the front its a banjo 'drop in centre' 'english'

All the escort diffs are the same. Just had mine done at Labrador Automatics, bearings/seals about $100 labour depends on whats needed to be done. Easy to remove but will need hub puller can be hired.
