Latest news is all fuels have gone straight back up to where they were even after the excise cut last month.

Meat and Vegetables also on the rise soon and also interest rates after 12 years at .1%

Future not looking good!

Paid $2.03/L for 98 yesterday, Sunbury Shell.

I'm like, wow thats cheap!

Then I had to realise in what world is $2.03/L for 98 cheap given what we were paying last year

Still 1.87 here for 98. It did jump for a few days back a week or so ago, settled back down again.

Diesel pressure is a worldwide thing.

Not knowledgeable enough to know if it's that fracking delivers the US more light petroleum grade fuel than diesel, or if it's the depletion of heavier oils, echoes of supply/demand shocks, or just printing heaps of currency, or anything else. Probably best to be on good terms with your local fish&chip or Chinese restaurant owner...

The AUD against the USD is @ 68.4c,this is not helping the price of fuel also, so you have to put that into context as well.

Yeh saw prices jump. Quickly filled at sleven $1.87 for 98. Then locked in the price for another week.

USA are saying fuel Was $1.89 US Gallon that Trump got it down to and now it's up to $7.00 a US Gallon.
So what's that in Australia a Litre ?

Looks like the price for oil is still going to go up.

US Gallon is 3.78541 Litres.

Exchange rate of 1 USD is 1.45 AUD I think it is about $2.68 Australian per litre.

Seeing $2.16/L around Melton and up to the $2.20/L mark in surrounding suburbs all for 91.

Good time to have no licence, though if this crap keeps up when I get it back fuel will probably be $45.45+ GST per liter for 91

LPG still the MVP at the 0.96-$1/L mark.

If you convert $7 USD to AUD it would cost you $10.13 AUD for a US Gallon of Petrol.

A US Gallon is 3.7854 Litres.

Divide 10.13 by 3.7854 equals $2.67 per litre.

Maybe my methodology is wrong.

How good was getting rid of part of the fuel excise - let's reduce our tax base significantly so they can just increase their prices and now make more profit because they know people will pay what it costs regardless.

Hopefully prices keep increasing so much people just can't afford to drive to work anymore and there's now a huge push for working from home that's currently being rolled back in an effort to repopulate the big offices in the CBD, or a transport strike with commercial vehicles that blocks all the major freeways.

Who remembers when Kazakhstan set their country on fire when fuel prices rose from .16/L to .32/L

Yep, quite a few at work playing that card at the moment. But hey, public transport is still an option.

Diesel in SW Sydney from the independents around $1.90, go to the branded places up the road at near $2.09 pl.

When this temporary discount is returned fuel could be near $2.50 pl.

Throw in a few rate rises, inflation of 5%, food and rents going up 7% ish and there will be a lot of worried families right around Christmas time.

Then more pain predicted in 2023... Perfect storm of social destruction.

We've mentioned these plenty of times on the forums before, no one is listening, it's like we're Waiting for Godot for the great moment of cheap electrification without considering CNG or more E85 or even coal to diesel (gasp!)

Vote 1 Franco, AFF's man in Canberra

When I'm prime minister, my fleet car will be an L300 Mitsubishi Express* to protect Australian tax payers from myself.

It's getting pretty expensive for sure, but I reckon I'm driving so much less since corona - work is home based, short drive to beach, walk to shops or a short drive if slack. Life has slowed down and tbh I'm enjoying it. Instead of facilities managers yelling at me, I have Rosellas busting their lungs out in the red flowered gum tree next door.
