thanks trev, it was my 3rd fun day & it's great that winton allows these days to happen. unfortunately i didn't find it as good as the previous 2, just way to many cars. maybe iv'e outgrown the fun days but there was no way to get a decent run, there seemed to be alot of people out there that had little idea how to drive.
i don't have a solution but maybe you could look at making the fun days only available to road cars to thin the ranks a bit, after all race cars have many days allocated to test. also maybe get a bit tougher with scrutinering & stop the smoke blowers from running, there were quite a few cars blowing whilst just at idle.
anyway thats my rant & 2 cents worth

A few of us officials were talking about a similar thing ourselves, I might put together a discussion paper for Winton about a few ideas, and that was one of them. I think it is too late to change it for the one in December, but maybe next year........

Thanks for the feedback.

i can't see why it would be too late to change things for the Dec day, depends if the officials want to change that early

It is not up to the officials, it is up to Winton Mangement and all the weekends for this year were booked out in about September last year, so it isn't that easy to sperate the classes.

surely it can't be too hard to dedicate just some sessions to race / sports / road cars though...
