Default Calypso Green XA Falcon GT HO Phase 4

The Calypso Green XA Falcon GT HO Phase 4 - surely would have to be the rarest car in Australian motor history (i wonder what it's insured for lol).

Does anyone know what the badge on the side is (above the obvious 351 GT)?

Nice!
Looks like one of those metal Cobra badges...don't know if it's original fitment or not, but plenty of people back in the early eighties used to put them on thier Falcons.

I would suggest you need to do a search of the forum for the resto thread on this car! That's right, the one and only...

Heaps of threads in the Classic section and Street Fords completed a series on the car late last year.

Thinking the same thing! Wouldn't the GT boys love that

........ or you could sell it, and then retire with a few XA GT's in the shed!

Why does that hurt? I couldn't care less what non ford people thought if I owned it.

We're lucky that cars like this survive unmolested and kept original...

Anyone else remember the old advert for Castrol oil from Street Machine magazine, must have been back in the mid 1980's? It had a mulleted tough guy standing proudly beside a Monaro. The advert said his grandfather bought it brand new, and only drove it occasionally, then when he died, it was left to him. He was very proud..."a genuine GTS-350 Bathurst Monaro, with low mileage and totally original".
Then he proceeds to tell us how he flared the guards, changed all the suspension, did up the motor, repainted it metallic gold with no stripes, and modified everything else.

Sorry bucko...you've just stuffed a priceless piece of Astralian motoring history that had been entrusted to you, and now future generations will be robbed of the chance to see one in original condition. Thanks a lot...

I wouldn't pay $1500 for a VL Walkinshaw ........ but then that leaves it for someone who would appreciate its ugliness so nothing at all to get upset about.

Why so cheap? I want the money, honey! Or maybe just put "offers" on the window and drive it up to junkfood junction with all the VN's and skylines for sale and see who rings up?

What makes you thinks it was unmolested?

That car had lots of thing done to it along the way, it was even repainted to the darker green, which was the colour the owner orignally wanted. It was repainted back to the factory calypso green when it was restored.

To me its nice to think it was used as intended.

It's has no equal in Australian muscle car collectabilty. It is the unicorn.

As for rarity. there is another 1 of 1 car which can be yours for a fraction of the price.

Where is this car ? It's like the yeti and Loch Ness monster

Also, I'm confused by the colour in the first pic and the colour on the model. They're clearly not the same ?
