Some photos have come through with cars fitted with some of the dealer fit ARB accessories that will be available.
Interestingly the guard 'vents' are no longer used for the snorkel like on the PX. (which I thought was clever)

The bullbar on the XLT suits it especially with the chrome grill

IMO they have really lifted their game over the past few years. Their efforts are certainly comparable to Toyota, Hyundai and Kia. Which from my viewing seem to be the manufacturers who spend the most on advertising.
I've already seen ads for the new Ranger on Twitch as well.

Stock stock stock will be the key.
By the way, my 4/5hrs of driving my parts today I came across the rare beast 1 x Everest lol.....
Well that didn’t take long. Everest outsold the Prado last month, and sold over 1000 units for the first time.

Toyota having supply issues, but a wins a win

I haven’t been a huge fan of the hero colours but I think ford did a great job on the yellow Wildtrack above. I like that there is no chrome.
I think this will look spesh with a black outback animal front runner type bull bar, a set of stedi led lights, black method wheels with 32/33tyres, and a dark tint. Might get my money.

Ford is really hitting its marks with the new squarer profile, increasing sales of the current Everest
should serve as a great springboard for the new vehicle. This is getting very exciting, I can’t wait
to see how the V6 is received by buyers and if done right, this could be big…..

On a personal note, I bought a Vito because I needed high towing capacity, carry a pallet sized load in the middle of the van and a 2 pallet load in a trailer....new Ranger with the wider bed for a standard pallet means I can have the security of the closed bed when parked at night, load space of a standard pallet and AWD when climbing some of the hills on gravel roads.....and a V6...probably at the same or cheaper price of the Vito.

The new Ford Ranger Raptor has been imagined ahead of its official reveal.
Ford has barely finished showing off its new generation Ranger and it has already been rendered as a Raptor.

Australian car website Automotive Daily has put together bits from the latest Ranger and F-150 Raptor to imagine what we can expect from the 2022 Ford Ranger Raptor.

Upfront is the obvious Raptor grille, complete with the F-150’s unique triple-LED lighting so that even at night other drivers will read the lettering which is finished in black. The C-shaped LED headlights have been tinted a little and there’s also an indicator light on the front wheel flares.

Underneath is the usual bashplate and bespoke bar that help for off-roading performance. Likewise, there are steel steps down the side and easily recognisable 17-inch black alloy wheels under the flared guards. We wonder if this design will be updated, but the previous iteration ran on 285/70 BFGoodrich K02 all-terrain tyres which is a solid choice.

Ford has obviously not given any details away on the new Raptor yet except for its sound teaser, which certainly purrs like a V6 petrol turbo engine. There are two choices on the table if that’s the case: 2.7-litre or 3.0-litre V6 petrol twin-turbo motors. The 2.7L is used in the US F-150 Raptor but also the Bronco, which is related to the Ranger underneath. The 3.0L has been previously reported by US publications as the choice for the new Ranger Raptor but it comes from the Ford Explorer.

Output will be around 230-300kW of power and 510-560Nm of torque depending on the engine and tune used. While likely down in torque on the expected 600Nm-plus from the new 3.0-litre diesel turbo available in the Ranger line-up, the power will be a good match to the Raptor’s Baja-racing origins, and of course, expect the same sort of Baja mode found in the out-going Ranger Raptor.

Also expect a similar focus on the chassis, with a Watt’s link suspension setup completely different to normal Rangers and providing great articulation with Fox suspension that can take a fast-paced pounding over the dunes, but is unlikely to meet the same tow and payload capacities of the workhorse range.

Ford will reveal the new Ranger Raptor in February 2022 and while we will get to officially see it then, we still might not know many specific details. However, with Australia such a strong market it could launch here in the same year, or at least by mid-2023.

Appreciate that, I go back and forth with vans offering tradies more secure storage without needing a builders trailer.
Can’t argue with current preferences though….

It means the vents are actually functional. They allow hot air from the engine bay to escape.

Correct. The F150R uses the 3.5 Ecoboost.

2022 Ford Ranger Wildtrak TDV6 demand “off the charts”
Dealers are reporting a flood of forward orders for the 2022 Ford Ranger Wildtrak TDV6 – six months before it goes on sale and long before the price is known.

Joshua Dowling
06:01, 07 December 2021

Dealers have begun taking orders for the top-of-the-range 2022 Ford Ranger Wildtrak TDV6 – more than half a year before it is due in showrooms and the price has been announced.

A number of Ford dealers across three states – canvassed by Drive – say they have taken “sizeable” deposits, with many sitting on more than two dozen orders for the flagship Ranger.

One dealer, who claimed to have accepted deposits for more than 30 examples of the 2022 Ford Ranger Wildtrak TDV6, told Drive:

“We signed up about a dozen on the morning after the reveal and the phone hasn’t stopped since,” said one dealer who asked to remain anonymous, because showroom sales staff are not allowed to talk to media on behalf of Ford.

“Everyone wants the Wildtrak (turbo diesel) V6,” said another Ford dealer.

“No-one has placed an order with us yet for the bi-turbo (twin turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel),” said yet another Ford dealer. “Every order we have taken is for the Wildtrak (turbo diesel) V6. I hope Ford is planning on building enough.”

Most Ford dealers canvassed by Drive said they have been accepting refundable deposits of $1000, “pending price and a test drive.”

Ford Australia said it does not know how many deposits had been taken or how many new Ford Rangers had been reserved nationally because a formal ordering system is yet be established.

“We just started doing it ourselves,” said one Ford dealer, who explained his dealership started creating a list of customers as soon as the phone started ringing.

Another Ford dealer said: “Given how many orders we are taking (for the 2022 Ford Wildtrak TDV6) it’s fair to say there will be a long wait for this car when it comes out.”

Beyond providing an estimated arrival of “mid 2022,” Ford Australia is yet to give any indication on pricing or timing for the first new Ford Ranger in a decade.

Having unveiled the vehicle a week ago, Ford continues to roll out new information gradually, such as genuine accessories – developed with four-wheel-drive specialist ARB – and the fact the TDV6 will be available as an option on the XLT, Sport and Wildtrak grades.

The standard engine on the 2022 Ford Ranger XLT, Sport and Wildtrak will be the twin-turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder, while the ageing 3.2-litre five-cylinder will be retired with the new model.

Meanwhile the 2022 Ford Ranger Raptor is tipped – but not yet confirmed – to be powered by a twin-turbo V6 petrol engine paired to full-time all-wheel-drive, once it's unveiled early next year.

Its all on the Ford website so yeh not sure why they care?

Probably more worried about final specifications. Power / Torque.

They have mentioned it is wider, and will now accept a pallet between the wheel arches.

From what I recall the Amarok was the only one that could do that previously?
