Hats off to HSV, these things are awesome. FPV are in big trouble I'm afraid.

This has puzzled me for ages- they should have milked the advantage while they had it. HSV certainly aren't holding back their numbers and rightfully so- to a lot of people the power figure sells the car.

When the commodore launched and we saw the interior pictures, i had a sneaking suspicion that they were going to have an iDrive like knob and system in prestige models. Well, the HSVs have the knob in the area, but its for setting up the traction control.

I wonder if the Statesman or Caprice will get the idrive-like system

Awesome car mate!

Off topic, but yes. It looks Tough... not beautiful!

If we dissect the car like this topic, people would be saying, the windows have a pointed edge and the rest of the rear quarter panel is curved, it doesnt line up right, etc.. Point is, it doesnt matter in a Muscle car. It looks tough! Enough said!

It's not new for HSVs to have knobs in them.

It looks like it's wearing a G-string at the rear. On certain angles it's kind of erotic if you stare in at the lower middle of the rear.

gts front actually looks good.

The rear of the car doesnt sit and think the spoiler doesnt suit. The R8 rear spoiler is much better.

Watching the video on the HSV site it appears it will look better in person. The GTS has certainly got people interested, I dont think I actually watched Will Davidson with the RSpec until the end. I have to say it "Well done HSV" although the publicity shots are woeful. The features do look impressive and having just paid the deposit for my new Rspec its very poorly equipped in comparison. I didn't pay anywhere near the $100k+ drive away prices (and I couldnt live with the styling) but they will have lines around the corner for the GTS. R8 buyers will be selling organs to make up the difference.

Yes - I was referring to the GTS only

I've mentioned before on a couple of occasions that the new HSV huffer is really only a technical exercise to showcase what HSV can do.......their bread and butter offerings and what will likely be the GT's natural competitor is the NA R8. Either way - the GTS does sound formidable :

Reading about it in the GOAUTO article shows they had a bit of trouble squeezing the engine in........LOL

Gen F stands for Fn Ugly. Has a 2007 WRX headlights and a VW passat rear end. Good to see the copy culture at Holden is still alive and well.

Obviously the blueprint paper is rare at Holden.

They do have an awesome colour range tho... paint you could alomost drink from the can!

If most of our GT's are making around 320 - 330 rwkw standard does this not put the GT up around the 400 engine kw also ? So its just a badge change for the GT

Dont mind the side profile of the car. The front of the Senator looks good but the rear end of all models looks way too tall. I mean Chris Bangle's E65 7 series looks better (which was arguably the most ordinary **** end of a car that ever was). Anyway, I'll have an R-spec GT all day every day.

car looks good, cant wait to see the GTS is red or black, white never looked good on any holden besides the VR/VS SS.
Thanks to the LSA it also has a water to air intercooler something the 335 gt doesnt have.
I read somewhere it produces 9psi boost, what does the GT come out stock?
The ZL1 camaro is in manual form is good for 12.1 at 117 to 119mph. It looks like the GT is only a tune away to catch up.
It also has a 9.9inch diff like the ZL1 which would make any dragger happy

This I agree with. Ford has a habit of changing colours of wheels at best come new model time so for Pete's sake give us some 19"s or better yet, find your nutsack and give us some 20"s come new model. I would argue that 19"s aint all that big now considering Kuga Titanium comes standard with 19"s. Oh and any danger of using 9" wide rear wheels as standard equipment on the next new one? Hope so.

Word has it they had to go to a higher profile sidewall to give better ground clearance on the GTS.
Because of the huffer...the position of the engine had to be lower for the bonnet to close. This left the engine and other ancillaries closer to the ground than in previous models. The 35 series tyres gave it the extra clearance required........apparently

Yeh they were. But I guess they resisted to going to a 30 series tyre on the 255 width ( keep similar rolling diameter to previous set up )

Not sure how legitimate the reasoning is but it was explained in the latest GOAuto publication.

If the rears are also a 35 series but on a 295 set up....it would give it quite a chunky old school look.
