Some of the correspondence with owner

Hi i bought the ute in september 2008 from a guy that lived in Long Jetty NSW. When I purchased the ute it did not have the service book so i contacted ford with the utes vin number, and got a print out of the utes service/repair history and the last entry was on the 17/12/2007, and the odometer reading was 50,347 kms when i bought the ute in 2008 it had 54,000 odd kms on the odo, and since then i have had the car serviced regulary by local mechanics and it is recorded in the ford service book i bought for the ute. The ute has been in an accident at some stage before I bought it but has been repaired properly. It had repair work done on the radiator support panel and the rear tub was badly damaged thats why it has the tray on it now (which I find far more useful than the original tub would have been). When I bought the ute I meet the previous owner at the Sydney air port inspected it, bought it and drove it home to the other side of Melbourne, when I got it home I put a set ot tyres on it and it passed the roadworthy inspection for registration, it still has that set of tyres on it now and they are still roadworthy.

If you know a good panel beater, ask if you can take it to them to be checked over to make sure all is well.

Bloke seems pretty honest about it though, he really didn't have to tell you that and you more than likely would never have picked it.

That's a good idea. I'm flying from Wagga to Melb today to (hopefully) pick it up... will have to see if there is a panel beater near the airport.

Sounds like your mind is made up then? I'll have to keep an eye out for it round town.

Well I'm taking a fair punt on it... but I am prepared to fly back again if I should...
It's nice to have 'support' to the general idea.

Decent of him.

There are a heap of panel beaters in that area, just avoid the dodgy ones. Not hard to avoid them, they're pretty easy to spot.

True.

Speaking of the front bumper though, what is that lip at the bottom?

Yep, but I'm pretty much out of money now
I'd like to fix up the paint work on the fron bar and side skirts some time, but I'm not sure if they are two pack and whether I could put acrylic over them... anyway, that's for another day.

Silhouette is two pack base over clear. Repaint the whole panel if youre going to do it.
