Given the competitveness of fleet pricing its little wonder Holden are struggling to make $$.
Just goes to show you how important the fleet market is and how dangerous it is to rely heavily on it. If the VE doesn't hit the spot and they haven't been able to achieve the specs at the price points the fleets require, it could be a costly investment.

What is the breakdown for Ford then? I don't imagine the Falcon to be any better really. We have seen from MMAL and the 380 that the Fleet market can make or break you. With those wheel arches, and a possible higher price, the Falcon looks like a better option every day.

From memory Ford out sell holden by quite a margin in private car sales.

From what i understand Ford won't discount past a set point to fleets which is why Holden sell more fleet based Commodores, hence the greater total units sold.

looks very nice from thes side, very streamlined, battery in the boot is probably on V8 models, which shows the bonnet is as small as it looks in the pictures. Though i have to say the rear looks horrible

Also anyone noticed how much it looks like a Focus! the front lights and roof line look almost identicle.

On the fleet side of things, I have noticed a lot of large company clients are actually going for Ford now. This can only mean trouble for holden.

At first glance inside I thought they copied Fords premium hvac/radio screen etc, and the controls seem very familiar looking.
First look outside I expected to see a european badge.

Anyway after reading and taking it all in I think Ford will be on a roll now, leading the way and hopefully something exciting coming up.

Woo You know so much ahead of time before anyone on the planet does even holden and ford :evil3: .
Can i have the lotto number for Saturday please :

Interesting one. Our organisation that always had Commodores and Falcons has now purchased Focus ghia's for the mojority of staff. Reduction in 2 classes of car. The CEO still has Territory ghia and I get the SV6. In actual fact, I'm looking forward to getting a VE SV6 around September.

Talk about a rip off of the BA/BF front, look at all the lines in the bonnet, grill and the edges of the top of the guards, i think you will find that front end was clayed basically off a Falcon, sad but more then likely true.

yeah, i was told 310kw hsv's.. then come the turbo's in a year or so... thats just what i have been told by a mate that works at a HSV dealership.

BTW.. i REALLY like the look of the ss, without a wing, & big big wheels..... looks VERY smart!

I was just thinking just like every other visual add ons from holden like bonnet scoops, side vents, vy/z body kits appearing on older commodores, its only a matter of time before we see vn-vs with coloured dashes.
And i have to agree with most others about that wing on the ss, its massive! I for one wouldnt be surprised if the hsv version is big enough to fit on a small plane!:p

I know you're a Holden fan boy but are you for real. Look at the bottom of the rear doors on the VE and then on the Camry. Nearly identical. Seems like every piece on the VE is a direct copy off other cars. BA headlights, M3 guards, 380 rear end and steering wheel, Astra grille, Camry doors, Vectra side profile, Aston Martin front guard vents. Is anything they do original. From a clean sheet of paper design its a pretty god damn poor effort to have nothing original.

Commodores have used same spacing and bolt pattern forever, You can fit VZ wheels to Vl and VK's.

I don't know why, but everytime I see it, I like it more and more. Not because it's a Holden, but I guess, because I like it alot more then the VY/YZ.

The HSVs, are going to be interesting ones though.

Cant get over that there are now 20 pages of this topic in a FORD forum, and that there are so many Holden members keeping the discussion going.

Time will tell before I make my mind up, when I see them on the road, road tests etc. In the meantime, I'm not making any judgement. But then why do I need to?

Definately not ugly, although I never thought I'd ever say this, as many have already said those headlights are too BA/BF to be original.

Otherwise I think its not bad.
