That'll be the HC model. Worth 10K on a dealers lot. And your quote for the rear bar sounds about right. I was quoted just under $400 for an exchange front bar - not fitted. Total was over $800 for supply and fitment of the front bumper. Amazing how expensive a bit of plastic is and how much a damaged one can detract from an otherwise straight and tidy car (which mine is except the front bumper).

$10000 for a '97 Mondeo - possibly, but only in a dealers yard!

I was offered $13000 trade in for my '00 ST24 V6 with 16000km on it and in as new condition.....

Mondeos are worth nothing because they were never a popular model over here.

Yeah, $10,000 would only be for a top condition, low km example on a dealers lot. Most listed on drive.com.au, carsales.com.au or carpoint.com.au are such examples and $10K is about the average.
Of course a dealer probably wouldn't buy one off you and as a trade it would depend on the model being traded on.
Privately I'm guessing $5K to $8K depending on mileage and condition. One advantage that the 2.0 Zetec models have is very good fuel economy - and in these days of highish petrol prices that may help make the cars a slightly better second hand prospect than a year ago and help to hold the prices to this level for a while.
The older HAs from 95-96 would be worth even less.

A lot of Mondeos on Carsales and the like are over priced - particularly the private seller cars. There were a number of ST24s on there when I was selling mine and they had been listed for months! :hihi:

Remember, usually the private seller vehicles are people who have been offered a rock bottom trade in price and decide they can do better themselves.
