Queensland used to have optional preferential voting. Of course, as soon as Labor were elected they needed to shore up their majority by introducing compulsory preferential voting - that way, the 90%+ of Greens votes that preference Labor will benefit them. If the Crisafulli government takes power, I hope that sanity prevails and optional preferential voting is reintroduced.

The other major Anglosphere country with a loose informal left-wing coalition is Canada, and surprise surprise, their prime minister has advocated for compulsory ranked choice voting. Thankfully it has not gotten up and they still have first past the post over there.

As an aside - Labor in Queensland have a long history of manipulating the electoral system for their benefit. They abolished the Legislative Council in 1922, as soon as they were able to field a majority in both houses. Of course, this all seems hilarious considering that for years upon years that side of politics bleated about Joh Bjelke-Petersen's supposed "gerrymandering"...while completely ignoring that Labor themselves introduced the apportionment system in the 1940s when they dominated rural areas.
Your totally correct ! And the Labor Party back then was a Conservative Labor Party but the Socialist took over the Labor Party, that was what the big fight was before the 1970's. then came lie for all your worth political era ! and all
backed up by the Media. and Selling out true honest working Australia out down the drain and supporting all the trash.

Surprise, surprise. Every portfolio Bowen has run had turned to crap, including Climate Change and Energy. This is the result of empty headed, tax payer funded politicians with zero experience in the private sector. That sentiment probably extends to public sector bureaucrats with zero private sector experience advising this numb nut. They're taking their advice direct from Schwab himself, likely.

I'd like to think the LNP are better, but these are the same WEF puppets supporting ALP's Digital Identity bill being rammed through Parliament. It's voluntary of course, just like it was voluntary to not get the jab, except you couldn't do anything if you didnt participate in the worlds largest medical experiment.

Nazis ! typical of Nazis and Communist in how they dominated over everyone in fact !
I did not get the COVID Jab as my G Dad warned me of such peoples actions back in the 1970's

But all the rest of my family were forced to get the so called Vax
or totally loose their job in fact !
Then look at how they have treated the Nurses now after they won their case that what the Government did was illegal, such is typical of Nazis and Communist in fact !

Only most Australians are that stupid that they know nothing in depth about such things at all in fact, so you are all sitting ducks !

It would be so easy for such Governments to reach their target of having to reduce the worlds population by 80%.
Such has to be done or we will all die, many top Climate Change people have said and some of the richest people have demanded openly on TV in fact, but the Media have no regards for such a person saying such a thing at all ! but will make a huge deal about some footballer being called names ?
a footballer that can not handle verbal abuse, Go back to the 1990's and before, crying about such nonsense and one would be laughed off the field as a good for nothing boy ! not a Man that's for sure.

LNP may be the lesser of two evils, however there are only two real choices and I know which choice I would be making.

The issue with the ALP is not just most of their politicians have no private sector experience. It's that their MPs are aggressively ideologically motivated against the private sector. Particularly small businesses. The Australian way, turn the screws on people that want to do the best they can for themselves and their family, and distribute the spoils as welfare.

The war on small business is hilarious, they don't dare question the corporates though, they can do what they like, especially ripping off the Australian tax payer.

HAHA,

Has anyone had any thoughts at all that this is a Media beat up? With the current media bias atm, i wouldn't put it past them to do this, just to put more daggers into Fed Lab.

The car companies have been asking for this for over 10yrs. Fed Lib told them to F-CK Off and give us shit, which they did.

Anyway, the only workers in AUS will be happy now that their Utes will be saved!!

It's not rubbish to want better for their people, is it?

You talk incentives, who pays? Yep - everyone. Who try's every year to reduce their tax - Yep everyone. Who compains all the time that the wait times are to long, the roads are shi_ , and so on? - Yep every one.

I'm the opposite on this one. I think its a great idea.

You talk builders going bankrupt. I know of and have seen over my life time many that go bankrupt, close the doors Friday. They open again on Monday under a different name or just with a different directer name (Wife, child, dog).
This happens all the time, why hasn't anyone had the Balls to fix this? I'm guessing brown paper bags - what do you think?

That's the reason you now need a director number. Specifically to spot these crooks getting loan after loan (which we need to pay for). The building industry seriously make life harder when they start lumping other industries cause of their dodgy ways.

From what I was hearing from the accountant, less than 35% of directors have got their number. Happy days.

Yep. Know Your Rights group have a great way to approach the Government’s request for a director ID. Works very well.

I thought it was already a legal requirement? My accountant harassed me about it years ago.

Then again, I'm hearing about small businesses getting crushed because of ATO debts that are going unpaid. Here I was thinking, was it ever an option to not pay your ATO debts?

ATO debts are the leading cause of business bankruptcies since the spicy shitshow.

I have no idea how hospitality businesses stay open given everything that's happened over the past four or so years.

The ATO is the number one destructive force in Australia for anyone with a Business.

The government is only about trying to make themselves looking good in giving 2 billion to Ukraine, that will never work, so it's all dead money tossed away once again and also supporting every other good for nothing, that could not be bothered to work.

The old Red carpet treatment for all the idiots and then they turn and bite people who have the guts to work for themselves.

Best job to have is working for the Government = no worries at all and if you live to retire you will be set for life ! You may even be able to work when your are 67yo. I do not know of many in my Trade that can afford to work past 60yo regarding insurance cost alone, let alone still able to do the job still because you are worn out and to buggered.

Work for yourself and their is a good chance you will loose everything and have nothing at all.

I think that Gov and Co live in a bubble and are way off with the pixies !
