Default Horn doesn't work

Hi,

I've replaced my old AU1 grey steering wheel (along with almost everything else that was grey inside the car) with a black leather steering wheel from an XR6 -AU2 or AU3 I'm not sure. Now the horn doesn't work.

1. Everything worked on the old wheel.
2. Cruise control still works with the new wheel installed.
3. The clock spring looks damaged but I'm pretty sure I didn't do it removing the old wheel. (so should still work, right?)
4. I found this thread http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...doesn%27t+work and tried JC's "wire in the switch" technique but the horn didn't sound.

How can I work out where the problem is? Horn pad, clock spring, switch, wiring (multimeter?)?

The only diff I can see between the two wheels is that the old wheel had a 3 wires between the airbag to the wheel (airbag, horn, 3rd mystery wire?) which has been replaced by 2 wires (airbag, horn) plus a solid metal connection. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Edward.
