Default Stress groaning sounds from rear

04 hatch has been making this stress groaning sound from the rear for the past couple of months now.
I've had a look under the rear and I can't see anything broken at all.
Any idea what it could be?

Chassis probably loosening up. On the LS the door rubbers "creak" when going over large bumps on irregular angles.

My guess is your chassis has twisted from all the extra rwkw you're packing.

If you take that enormous WRC spoiler off the tailgate, does it still make the noise??? Worth a shot anyway... :

I'd be looking at shock absorbers.

It could be number of things why it's making that creaking sound.

I have the same problem but its my front left.
I think its my swaybar bush.
it happens when i drive on a bumpy road section or coming of a driveway or speedbump.

I get that in multi level carparks when approaching the ramps at an angle, not a huge problem but is there a solution? Greasing the rubber?
