Default Can you vouch for...........

Hi peeps.

Selling my beloved FG Turbs on carsales.com, and have been approached by a bloke from City Link Motors in Sydney, his name is Paul Nisi.

His offer for my car is good enough for me to accept.

What I'd like to know though, due to all the scammers out there, is can anyone vouch for this bloke and or Car yard?
I have searched on the net about the car yard and the that looks all legit, was just wondering if anyone had had personal dealings with them, and or a Paul Nisi.
Appreciate any feedback you guys might have

Get the ph number of the business from directory assistance/phone book, do not get it from the guy contacting you. Ring the business and ask to speak with him. Then you'll know if he is who he says he is. If he is, then take all the normal precautions with any sale.

Hmm, a dealer offering you good enough money for you to consider. Almost unheard of - they get them through wholesalers at prices that would bring a tear to your eye. Just do your homework on this one.

I got a text message from someone about my XC.
Asking if it was still available.

This is the reply i got, needless to say I did not reply again.

Quote:
Thanks for the prompt response..

I will be very grateful if you can send me a direct link to the ad ,as I lost it after my computer restarted. yesterday

Besides I will like to know more about its condition and possibly have more pictures of it I will be very glad to have more pictures of it. Do as well advise on the least amount you will like to give it away. I will be very glad to conclude this as soon as possible.

Due to the nature of my work, I will not be able to travel out of the United kingdom to come for the inspection. I will however be needing your full contact address so that I can forward it to my shipping agent here in the United Kingdom who will be coming over there for the inspection and shipping.

Thanks again and hope to hear from you soon

Set up a new account with a different bank. Once payment has cleared then release the car. Once the transaction is complete, withdraw the money, and close the account.

Cash or bank cheque. I would never accept any other payment method on a car sale.

I had an "african scam" enquiry a couple of years ago wanting to buy a laptop.

Dr xxxxx from yyyyy, the usual format, wanted a quite expensive laptop and was sending the funds but needed it in a hurry.

Spiv radar went bing but unfortunately one of the juniors had processed the payment and ordered the equipment. I kicked her bum for falling for this.

What made matters worse was when Dr xxxxx from yyyyy turned up at the front counter a week later to pick up his laptop along with several thousand dollars worth of other things for use in his new senior position as a surgeon at our hospital.

So I had to unkick her bum.......and learn a lesson.

Assumption is the mother of all stuffups, check everything and cover yourself and good luck with the sale.

So a bloke offers you money for your car your selling
He works for a car yard ??
Thats different how to say a council worker offering you money ??

Simple theres the car, show me the money
If he had all the details, VIN ect he would do a search on the car
He would know as much as you, regarding financier and payout figure ect (if any)
Dont release the car till all the funds are cleared

Texting sellings,that really annoys me
Sorta sorts the boys from the men i think
OR
The dreamers from the genuine

just be careful guys. people have alot of stories.

The main current story going around is where someone is overseas somewhere and they have an agent for you to take the car to. But before you do that you need to pay the 'buyer' like 2000$ to organise costs for the sale, and that he will ad another 2000$ to the total price of the car.

Dont give the money to them cause you will obviously never hear from them again.

City Link Motors are on Parramatta Road Strathfield, they have been there quite a few years now.

I cannot vouch for them, but they have rung me before when I have sold cars, but never wanted to give me anywhere near the money I was asking.

They do charge an absolute bomb for the cars they sell though

My only dealing with City Link is perusing their lot. Offered me fair trade on a previously owned R32 but their own vehicles were well above market price. Didn't go ahead.

They're a legit yard and specialise in performance vehicles if that's one of your concerns.

If they have a possible buyer on the books for your car they will try to buy and offload in the same day/week, thus creating turnover with little if no outlay.

Seeing as though he wants the car, arrange to meet him personally at the car yard and take it from there. It'll definately prove whether he is a scammer or not

Hey Mate I do know City Link in Sydney. There located on Parramatta Rd about 15mins out from Sydney CBD. Unfortunately I dont know any of the sales people there but I can defiantly say that the would be interest in a car like yours. Plenty of late model HSV's, FPV's and other performance cars. You wouldn't find anything in there yard older then a 2006 model. So for that reason it does sounds legit. Ive been hit a few times with the scamers aswel but play it out and wait till you see the cash before you do anything and there no harm in it for you.

Good luck with your sale mate.

when i was looking for mine, qld was the cheapest, and also seem to have the most to choose from, which is probably why the market is a bit lower. pickles seem to have at least 5 on carsales at any one time all low km and low price.

Bit of common sense mate. Seeing as he comes to Brissie from Sydney, get him to meet you, instead of the other way round I mentioned. It'll definately prove him to be legit or a scammer
