How is it possible to steal such a car? Isn't it supposed to be very hard with the immobiliser system?

No car is theft proof, immobilisers just make it harder. I have seen cctv footage of certain groups of teenagers who can get into some of the so called most secure cars and in less than 15 seconds.

Wont really matter if the scum have a flatbed to move your car onto then drive away with it.

Some time ago I remember reading a post on an American forum by a guy who said he had bought a manual 911 solely for the reason that most car thieves in the US no longer knew how to drive a manual.

Don't know if that's an issue in Australia yet.

My BA got stolen, they are supposedly hard to steal. I told the police this and they laughed and told me to get my head outta the clouds. "nothing is foolproof against these people mate!"
i feel for your loss mate, hope she turns up ok.

Also a lot of thieves these days steal keys or tow the car away instead of the old 'hot wiring' days.

I'm in the Eastern burbs, so i'll look out for it. Sorry to hear the bad news. Hopefully the car turns up with a full tank of fuel.

We received a call from the Police this afternoon saying the car has been found. No idea what is its condition. They need to check it for fingerprints before we can see it.
