Default vacume sump advice please

Hi guys i run a mild 351 windsor in an xw sedan 13.5 at 102mph. I have just fitted 100 shot of nos and was thinking of putting a set of vacume lines from the rocker covers to the exhaust. Thiis should create a negetive vacume in the sump at rmp. Has anyone done this that can advise on posible hp gains input would be very welcom. :

Moroso make a crankcase evacuation system.

You could probably buy it through Rocket, VPW, etc here in Oz.

I have a good exhaust guy and he says he has seen 3/4 hoses run from tappet covers to fitting that enter the collectors at 45deg. He says to use pcv's to stop any blow back and seal all breathers. Will check out these kits for sure though thanks :eclipsee_

PCV's might not handle the heat, a reed valve set-up like in the Moroso kits would be better. Many Jap cars use these types of valves in exhaust systems as part of the EGR system.

thanks for that have ordered the kit will see how it goes . Do you think it would be ok for street use or would i loose to much oil? :

i wouldnt run it on the street as it will suck to much oil from the underside of the piston & the small end of the Conrod will run hot & could cause it to lock onto the gudgen pin

if you do run a Vac-U-Pan setup make sure that you use a one way check valve on the extractors

Does this work with full exhaust system???
I thought this only worked with open headers????
I doubt there would be enough vacuum to have oil issues???
There are vacuum pumps that can pull good vacuum..
But don't go too high, the supper V8's pull around 15Lb but they may have pressurized rod bearing, as Oliver rods are....If used?? It helps ring seal, windage...The V8 guys use dry sump which in essence pulls vacuum ....

Would one of these be of any help to an engine with slight ring seal problems?

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?
Its pulling vacuum in the crankcase via the valve covers, there is no way in hell 4" of mercury vacuum will affect the oiling to the small ends. Nascar guys pull close to 27" of mercury vac with their dry sup systems, and similarly have no issues.

With the Gas on, I'd be more worried about holing a piston and pumping a whole lot of oil out the breathers and exhaust...

got any other info on your engine setup 1BAD51? Ive got a 351w ZC Fairlane. cant help with the vacuum sump sorry.

gammaboy, camc88 has twin cams, dont argue with him.

Default Vacum sump is on

Well the vacum sump kit is on and i have been driving it on the street no problem. 1.It does not use more oil.
2.It does stop minor oil leaks,
3.There is a notable differance in rev responce and top end power.
4.It only cost $300 fitted.(local exhaust shop)
Conclusion money well spent good bang for buck
