if there is a product out there that we should know about.....then i want to know.

Why would you not wanting this information out there to us Ford enthusiasts?

If this site is only going to let us know information only from site sponsors then I for one would have to ask why is this site here.

For the people or the site sponsors?

if its just for site sponsors then I'm outa here

i will keep this short and this will be my last post as i will leave it at this, if you are "selling" it - it is your product. You may be simply just trying to "help" BA owners but im sure your also making a profit from this aswell and that is why there are systems in place, Laminge has told me that you are going to become a site sponsor so i welcome you.

im all for informing everyone on whats out there, if someone comes onto the site and lets everyone know about what they just had done and how to do it thats fine, but its against the sites rules to come on and promote your own business/product without being a site sponsor (which business' pay good money for the priveledge)

I think this is being blown out of proportion.... I think the mods have this kind of thing in controll. I for one dont have a problem hearing about products like these whether their a sponsor or not, i also think it shows a certain initiative from the seller..... The seller makes profit the customer gets what they need everyones happy.... The only issue i would have is if the service offered wasnt up to standard...

My 2c - (This is not an invite for a slangin match)

Cheers

I’m along both lines here

I believe Falkeen sums it up nicely with
Quote:
but its against the sites rules to come on and promote your own business/product without being a site sponsor (which business' pay good money for the privilege)
as its our site sponsors that help us keep going at full steam.

We will always try to get the best sponsors for the forums and allow some leeway for others.

Hopefully we can all move in a direction in making these forums stronger at the end of the day.

and to prove the point, i will go out and do some research on this product and come back with some info over the next couple of days

I think this site has been quite helpful.....but if the information on here is being filtered because of site sponsorship then I am wondering how much more information or products are out there for us Ford enthuists.

Now I dont think this guy has been promoting the product or his business....he has been giving information on this product. It is a Ford product and he has suggested that you go to you dealer to get one (in a few posts).....I for one never knew that you could replace the standard Head unit with the premuim on.......so for me I think its quite informative and just the sort of stuff I want to know.

I also dont think he is in conflict with any of the site sponsors here.

As far as I am aware it is a rather costly and difficult exercise to swap or replace your ICC with one from Ford (i.e. going through spare parts). I think you would have to prove it was defective in which case it would be a warranty job, or otherwise pay a fairly large amount and also exchange yours for the new one.

Hi

to do an upgrade you don't go thru spare parts, you have to go to the service
area and explain what you are after. Depending what state you are in let us know and we can refer you to a Dealership, or you can send it down to us directly for upgrade. you can keep ur car runing by reconecting ur pcm box located underneath ur Icc radio module. if ur in sydney and close to Smithfield you can contact Lou in service at Peter Warren Ford then its smooth runing from there.

Thanks

Fadi

What surprises me is certain people that complain about this thread PM members asking what the quoted upgrades cost. Strange!

No-one PMd me, and I'm a member.

I have a mate who has a TS Territory, and we were discussing making his colour ICC screen compatible with DVD - any ideas on how this can be done and how much it would cost?

Sorry JCR you were crossed off the list :P

again, you miss the whole point, we have seen discussion from various shops before, however come to the stage where the shop is promoted or products priced or cross sold then they are approached to either become a vendor or asked to cease.

I think thats fair on the people who support this site, as they pay a premium to to do so.

In this case Fadi has expressed strong interest in doing so.
