Does anyone know if the ignition plugs are the same for the AU3 and the BA/BF as in if I wanted to fit the BA/BF ignition would it plug straight in?

It would - they use the same brown (IIRC) 6 pin plug halfway down the column. Problem is the smartlock is different so you may have to use a BA BEM mated to the ignition.
