Default 174rwkw! - I've Been CVE'd!!!!!!

Hey guys

I would just like to personally thank Paul (V8capri) from CVE for taking time out of his Satursday moarning to dyno my car & play around with things!

Previously, With the 1636C977B, i had a standard air box and leaning out injectors, and a lovely 35 degree day standing in my way of my real potential.

After installing, AU Injectors, and a 3.5 Inch neck Pod Filter with 3 Inch TB piping, i asked Paul if he could please see if theres anything he could do to get me 160rwkw.

Today having a nice cool moarning, more juice in the injectors, and more air coming in to feed the 977b half of the cam, it managed a 160rwkw.

Paul had then noticed it had not been climbing the dyno sufficently, and relized it was tighted down way to tight. he then loosen'ed it up a tad, and ran it once more, an astonashing 168rwkw!!

All up there where about 8 dyno runs, last 4 were all within 168 to 174kw , with max power being without any filter or piping, 174rwkw, and max power with pod and snorkel on (street setup), 170.2rwkw..

Paul said its all about having the perfect setup, not about the big bucks, "your car is only as fast as its slowest part"

I've been CVE'd!, Im so wrapped, that i busted the 170rwkw mark WITHOUT a chip/tune.

Red = What i walked in there with.
Blue = Street Setup (Pod + XF TB Pipe).
Green = Naked TB.

Thanks Paul and everyone at CVE , you guys Rock!!!!

Nah Only a Unichip dealer can do Unichips, they won't give the software out.
That's how they get you !!
Once you buy it you are stuck with them.

damn Grechie .. That is a hell of a good set up

It comes down to " parts that work " and a good solid build will help every time

The rest is time to sort it out and a good tuner to decide what is the best option or set up.. It looks like here you have found both.

Cheers

Forgot to mention, the main cuase for the up in power too, was the 2 times it was dyno'd was on a boiling hot as day, so the clutch fan would of been spinning off its nuts!

unless theres more to be had in ignition timing i can't see there being much more gains uptop with a chip.
deffinately some potential to gain some more mid range though.

See Grechie, I told ya people would say things like that.

That why on my BA I actually lower that sensor from the actual truth.

Well you see this is where it gets interesting.
The inlet air temp sensor is designed to read the temp of the inlet air.
Now this sensor was very carefully placed cable tied to the pod, and not touching any panel work.
I think his issue was he runs an engine fan which is contantly pumping radiater heat all over the engine bay.
even when we removed the pod, this then placed the t/b inlet closer to the area where the fan pumped.
Even though there is a dyno fan, the air coming out from the radiater was warm, I know because we used it to keep us warm !!
On my ba because of the turbo inlet location the air is very hot and stagnet, and I often get air inlet temps 45-50 deg. Now if i had that on the dyno sheet people would say I was cheating, yet that is the actual figure. So in order to keep world peace I leave it up on the wall where it is cooler, sure it drops the figure , but then I don't get accused of 'cheating the dyno'
We did a run with the air inlet temp out of the engine bay and it ran 169.x Next time I can print that out. Which is less the 5kw difference. As you know on low kw ( no offence) it doesn't make a world of difference.
