Hi Guys

Ford has just registered a new TM for a new Model:

"Falcon R6"

TM 1179745

Bare in mind, Ford has the registered TM's for Territory R5 (TM 982764) and Territory R3 (TM 982766) which were registered back in Dec 2003 which they have not yet used.

Speculate away!

I presume the 6 means 6 cylinder, but then that cant be right because the Territory's have both R3 and R5, what does it all mean?

And what does the "R" stands for?

I'm still racking my brain trying to think of something.

At the same time of registering R3 and R5, they also registered "Territory MTX", but the "Falcon R6" sounds pretty snazzy so far... maybe a 6cyl version of the Clubsport R8? lol... doubt it...

remember the old four door falcon ute 2WD called the R5 at sydney motor show, and wasnt the territory teaser releasd at a motor show some where called the R7 or something like that. Never mind, I'll go back to sleep now.

I'm thinking R=Recreational??? It would work for a R6 falcon ute and R5 Territory 5 door, but not Territor R3?

Does'nt Ford have 5 cylinder turbo diesel somewhere in the group?

Very possible. Some people are speculating a name change for the base model.

What if the Territory R5 is a 5 Door, and the R3 a 3 door... hmmm rumors...

Going back a while ago they produced a prototype of a 4door ford ute similar of the falcon sedan, a bit like what holden ended up doing about 2 years after ford did this. Tell the truth its dead ugly. I hate holdens but i do also believe that there cross 8 or what ever its called did look better then the sedan itself. Still both the old and current model commodore look like junk.

Interesting to see. The only thing is will ford reproduce something like the ba. The absolute much better vehicle compared to the au series. But can they keep it up. Still none the less i be owning a ford. Even know i looking at selling my ba sedan at the moment soon as i find the xb ute i been looking at and doing what i want done to it.

Agreed there. I've read on Drive.com article earlier today that the name of the entry level Falcon is probably changing. The R6 name could just be the XT replacement.
