Hi Club,

What do i need to do to join club. Am in process of buying BF11 GT. Have previously owned a coulpe of XA coupes, 1st was a 250 which run of the clock at 125mph and handled the curves easily, as i grew up the next was Fairmont 351 brown mica with Tbar 9in LSD. Sold to finance ailling wife. Wife thankfully is well, god love her, and GT here we come. Sue (wife) is now a keen Ford girl.
So let me know the deal and we would love to join.

Cheers Barnsey

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder that this event is now only 6 ½ weeks away and we’d love to see you all there!

This event is open to Fords of any age, model or body shape – as long as it has a blue oval, its welcome!

Entry forms can be downloaded from our club website here:

http://www.fpvxrclubact.com/fordsho...antform2008.pdf

Entry cost is $10 per car for members and $15 per car for non-members and entries close on November 7, 2008.

There will be a wide variety of trophies to be won covering a number of vehicle models and types, as well as prize giveaways during the day.

For those people travelling from outside Canberra, this is a good site for accommodation:

http://www.canberrahotels.com.au/

We will also be looking to organise a small sight-seeing cruise and a drink for interstaters on the Saturday afternoon.

It should be a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you all there!

Please feel free to PM me with any questions.

Richard

Hi James,

All model-specific awards (best X/E/AU etc, ute, FPV, Euro etc) are voted on by those showing on the day.

In addition, we have a number of sponsor's awards that are decided by the sponsors themselves (John McGrath Ford, Shannons etc) and we also have a People's Choice Award where we take votes from any member of the public that is there on the day.

Cheers,

Richard

A big thank you to everyone who came out on a not-so-perfect day to take part in the Show & Shine. There were some awesome vehicles on display and everyone had a great time.

Our award winners were:

Best X Series: Anthony Whittington with an immaculate red XD Falcon
Best E Series: Grant Howitt - White EL GLi with XR front and other goodies
Best AU Series: Jim Doyle - as usual, his Venom TE50 looked fantastic
Best B or F Series 6: Glenn Wallis - BF Breeze F6 Typhoon
Best B or F Series 8: Chris Vidler - BF Ego GT-P
Best FPV: Chris Vidler - BF Ego GT-P
Best Ute: Glenn Tinham - Blueprint XR8 now with added bedroom in the tray!
Best American: Noel McKay with a beautiful 1968 Thunderbird
Best Euro: Rob O'Donnell with a Focus XR5 Turbo
Meguiars Best Paint: - Anthony Whittington with the XD (the paint was 10 years old and looked about 10 days old!)

John McGrath Choice Award: Erik Johnson - a beautifully turned-out AU2 Fairmont
Shannon's Choice Award: Anthony Whittington - XD
Enhanced Auto Image Award: Glenn Wallis - BF Breeze F6 Typhoon
Gentech Automotive Best Engine Bay: Anthony Whittington - another one for the mighty XD
People's Choice Award - Anthony Whittington - XD. Anthony was last seen looking for a wheelbarrow for all his trophies - congratulations!

FPV & XR Owners Club of ACT Perpetual Trophy: Dave Hansen - BA Blueprint XR6 Turbo
FPV & XR Owners Club of ACT President's Award: Jim Doyle

Congratulations to all our winners and thanks once again to everyone who took part. I'd also like to acknowledge the support of several sponsors who made the day possible:

John McGrath Ford
Shannons Insurance
Kaleen Sports Club
Gentech Automotive (who not only provided the Best Engine Bay award but also supplied the club with a custom tuning prize to raffle off)
Meguiar's Car Care products

And last but not least, a huge thanks to all those club members who helped get the whole day organised - your efforts were greatly appreciated.

Richard

Good pics as usual, shame I missed this 1 but the email from 1 of the organising members at 7:30 that morning informing me that the event had been cancelled due to bad weather wasn't appreciated. Oh well, next time.

Come on Ratman, like you'd get out of bed on cold wet windy Sunday morning. Your most likely to still be in bed, or at best sitting on the lounge in your robe, slippers on ya feet, smoking your pipe while reading the Sunday paper.

Did it rain on Sunday? It was like that but with rain in Sydney, nasty weather all over the east coast. One thing about it though, it made for some great pics of the cars. The lighting is awesome and with the sky above, it looks tops.

Anybody got anymore general shots for the website? I'll see most of you at dinner on Saturday for a catch up.

Here's two more.
