Default 1LOUDXFUTEs Build

Hey all,
Thought it was about time I started a build thread. My name is Ryan, I live in Perth and I am a student currently studying Electrical Engineering.
My car is a November 04 BA Mk2 XT I bought at the end of January 08.
This is the only picture I have of when she was stock

I then bought a Fairlane Ghia grille, Typhoon 3 leg spoiler and also had 14% tint fitted

I then fitted My Optima Blue top, an Alpine Headunit, Kicker Sub running off a Crossfire Amp and amped the front speakers with an Alpine V12 amp.

I then paid a visit to BPT performance in Wangara and bought a typhoon lower and upper intake and also a Sniper flash box. I am currently using the generic 98ron tune.

I also fitted a chrome shifter surround and polished up my shifter backing plate (didn’t do a very good job with this :()

Next was to remove the Mud splats, I also fitted some Kingspring SLs all round and removed the badges from the back.

A few weeks after she was lowered I had a little prang :(, smashed one of my headlights, my Fairlane grille and destroyed my front bumper. I then decided to do a BF XR front conversion, This is how she looks today

I also got the side stripes and mirror scalps colour coded

I am currently looking at getting a full exhaust system fitted, custom plates, getting some wheels and also getting a new diff ratio fitted with LSD.
I will try and keep this thread up to date as I get some more mods done.

Cheers
Ryan

looks great mate. coming along very nicely. 1 positive you can always take out of an accident is the chance to upgrade :P you really need to do something about the rear bar and the tow bar, but other than that it looks great! maybe some rims will set it of with a bar change keep it up mate, cant wait to see the final product

do you think the GT rear will match the XR front though? ive always wanted to get a BF phoon kit, but after hearing some of the stories about fibreglass i may stick to genuine

i really do need a new rear bar tho, it has a few dings and scratches from where the previous owner has hit it with his/her trailer :(

see no more tow bar

i reackon the GT rear bar will match the XR front better than the XT rear bar does :P

whats worse that scratches and dings from the previous owner is when you buy your car with perfect paint and six months later you have 3 marks where people have backed into you!!! damn these small queensland car parks!!!

Those wheels looks great! And I think your right, go with the XR kit. Its easier to find the Genuine parts and they are much cheaper. Finding Genuine FPV kits are hard trust me, I have installed them to my Futura!

Mind you I have seen heaps of awesome priced parts on eBay in Perth over the past 6 mionths! There was one guy who was selling a BA GT, 2 BF GT and one BF F6 bar for approx $500-600 for the lot. They all had been damaged, but would have been easily fixed with a bit of plastic welding and interchanging of parts that fit (so I could see anyway).

I do see lots of awesome priced interior parts on eBay too, from XR's though which if your thinking that later on, might be some info to keep in mind.

In the past we have had work done, body kit fitted etc by the spoiler shop in Myaree. They did a very good job on our old EF no gaps and perfect colour match.

I got my FG XR8 calipers in the mail today (thanks FTG), so i spent a fair bit of time cleaning them up and painting them :

here is a before and after shot

I have called up and organised myself a set of braided brake lines and i have a set of BF XR6 Turbo rotors that i will fit with my new calipers on my next day off.

Now i have to start saving the pennies for a nice set of slotted rotors and a good set of pads.

Hey with the brakes check the prices from Race Brakes Sydney. I know they are on the other side of the country, but maybe they can give you a good price to haggle with for places in WA. I got RDA's and they are awesome! Best $500 (for 4 slotted and 4 sets of Pads) I have spent on the car so far! And by the way the paint job looks great!

Ryan that sounds a bit expensive, mine where black & needed to be White + I got the rear XR6 skirt painted & the whole lot was $250 & that was in the bush(Gunnedah) so I suggest you get a couple of quotes first.

yep :evil3: I decided to get a plastic kit, as i have seen too many horror stories with fiberglass (cracking sagging etc) I would love to get my hands on a BF2 runout kit, but they are way to expensive.

David, The skirts are already in the shop getting sprayed. I might quote around for my rear bumper/boot lid. This panel beater sprayed my front bumper/bonnet and the colour matching was perfect.
