Default Skid Pan Day - Saturday 08 May

A skid pan day has been organised for Saturday, 08 May. The course is run by rally and race legend Rick Bates, and is held at the Sutton Driver Training Complex (the Queanbeyan end of Sutton Road).

The day will include:

- Theory on car control - the how's and why's;
- Causes of skidding and why it happens;
- How to get out of a situation; and
- Have some fun using throttle control to control skids (not do doughnuts).

An overview of the course can be found at http://www.batesadvanceddriving.com...carcontrol.html

The course is conducted over half a day - the morning session goes from 8:30am - 12:30pm, while the afternoon session runs from 1.00pm - 5.00pm. There is a morning / afternoon tea break.

Cost is approximately $140.00 per person inc GST (exact amount will be known once we work out exact numbers).

There are a total of 8 spots available in the morning and 8 in the afternoon, making an total 16 places, so get in early to ensure a place. Put your name on the list ASAP so we can let Rick know how many attendees to cater for. We will have the BBQ going so you can grab a feed as well.

PLEASE NOTE: First preference will be given to club members. If there are still spots available closer to the day, these will be made available to non-club members.

This is going to be a great event...

I will have the batteries charged this time so we should be able to get some in-car video footage for most if not all of the cars running.

Don't forget their is a limit to the amount of cars on the day so 1st in 1st served.

Apologies for the delay, work had me away all this week.

Anyway, photos are done.

All of them: http://www.datamine.tk/v/2010/SkinPanMay10/

And by car (click on each pic to open all of them)...

Big thanks to Glenn for taking over the camera so there'd be shots of me and Trystan.
