Question Poll: King of the Ford V8's

Here it is guys.

Who is the King of the V8s that Ford produced for cars.

Listed above are all the major series of engines I could think of, Im hoping I didnt miss any. Where there are multiples, they are due to major block changes, ie Early windsor is seperated from late windsor and seperated from 351 due to major revisions and differences. I also seperated the FE's into their seperate Generations. If ive left out a series, let me know, but i reckon I have em all.

You can choose and vote however you want against any criteria you can think of. Your basic favourite, for technical reasons, because its what you own, ease of modification, all out horsepower potential, its all good guys.

Just remember, before making bold sweeping statements and generalizations, make sure they are researched, make sure they are correct, and keep in mind people are very passionate about this subject, so lets keep it civil.

With that said, go at it boys and girls.

1969-1997 Windsor 351 gets my vote.

The Windsor engines have an unbelieveable amount of aftermarket parts available for them, if not here, then through the US... which dwarfs most other engines. And if I can only pick one... it's going to be the big-cube tall-deck version.

Mmmm... World Products Windsor 351 block at 470ci.....

FE GenII for me... Namely the 427 "Cammer"

Second choice would be close between 351w, 335 Series and BOSS 302

Cleveland: Ford Australia's most sucessful Motorsport engine by a county mile. In Stock production form the 4V/BOSS 351 Cleveland was the most powerful small block Ford engine ever made and it can be easily modified to make huge HP with a vast aray of performance products and technical resources avaliable in Australia.

Had to throw a vote in for the big blocks. I have never owned one, nor driven one. But then, I have never owned any of the others and only driven one 351 and 2 windsor 5.0s so I don't really have a lot to go on. I just love the massiveness that is a big block.

: the good old wheezor aint too bad either! especialy the early bullet proof 302W with its decent block and the venerable BOSS 302 with cleveland 4V heads!.
The tall deck 351W though wasnt too flash, those mains journal bearings didnt last too well under load and the heads breathed about as well as an asthmatic.. _2:

A 255 Indy Windsor V8 or a DFV would be right up there for me too.... But since they aren't listed on the poll....

Youre just pouting cause monty's XC has lost all oil pressure and you dont get to ride along with him on his frequent trips to the redline until he fixes it.

The 1968-1997 "385" Big Block 429/460/512 gets my vote. It was my first engine choice when I had my XB coupe.
