This car:

Is an absolute weapon! He rang me before to tell me his time, first run of the night, and I got goosebumps! Damn that thing is quick - 9th fastest overall on the e-series quarter miles register, including V8s and turbo cars!

He is running it out there tonight exactly as it runs on the street - 17" BA XR copies and legal tyres all round, you name it.

Well done mate

thanks guys... overall i am pretty damn happy!!!

I ran into VEGABASS, before i got my slip, and he said, well how do you think you went. i said,4000rpm launch, it pushed be back, but not too bad. i stringed together a few good shifts..

i couldnt believe it when i saw 13.822 on the slip.

i still tried to better it though. for some reason, you get a time, and you think, maybe there is a bit more...

i followed it up with a 13.92

Probably does, just the right amount...lol

But I agree, on stockish/normal tyres it must be an effort.

Congradulations!

Because he doesn't just let the clutch go at 4000rpm, it's all in his clutch technique. Something I wish I could learn a bit quicker.

well, the secret to a good launch...

firstly, bake your tyres, start in the water, and then creep out about 3m. then stop, and do a mini launch, and see how sticky it is... and then another mini launch. you know if its sticky then...

dial 4000rpm, say a few nice words to your clutch, and when you actually move off the line, let the clutch out a bit, and then full throttle and slip it out quickly.

Awesome result.

That car must hand it to plenty of stocko LS1's and XR6T's on the street.

Hmm. I've got a spare AU motor, T5 and EA...

Well, At the moment the AU XR6 engine in it is bog stock except for the cam, its not even dialled in, and it has extractors, the bottom of the ED airbox is stock but it has a modified top. It's also running the ED intake manifold, so if we can find some flow figures for ED vs EL style intake manifolds it might pay to throw a BBM on...or maybe one of those 6 throttle intakes that NApower has on his car ;)

Still lots of room for improvement with a good port job at least...but damn its fast at the moment!
