2001 cougar brakes

I don't like the amount of travel in my brake pedal, Its a manual and i've had new brake pads installed, the brakes are not spungy just seem to go half way to the floor, is this normal with these cars ?

Check your brake fluid level and if it is OK take it to your mechanic and have your system checked for leakages.

thanks, but the fluid level is fine and there does not seem to be a leak

As the braking system is hydraulic get the brake booster checked it could be that it is not operating up to the correct pressure. There must be a reason for it as it is not normal. Just a process of elimination to find the fault.

See how you go and let us know also if you need a new one let me know.
