Any special deals on 4 pot rears for GTs fitted with the standard PBRs?

Thanks!

XRDRIFT 06-07-2010 01:52 PM

The Option 2 package, would you happen to have a deal with the upgraded pbr rears?

I just brought a full 4 piston brembo kit for my car but the rears dont clear my 20" rims, due to the staggered offset, but really interested what you have offered here. The fronts will clear...I think...but always check

Cheers Pete

The std pbr rotor is different to the Brembo kit so a whole new kit would need to be fitted and the kit would be 4 pot brembo with 330mm xdrilled rotors and braided lines at $2350 but these prices do change because of the different suppliers we use.

So id nearly be better off going Option 4 and selling my old front and rear rotars / calipers. My cars only done 6,000 kms so im sure theres an XR6T or G6ET that would like the old brakes!

With the prices they are at the moment i would say yes.

Excuse my ignorance but -
If I was to buy the 6 pot Brembos for the front, can the 4 pots that come off the front be used on the rear?

Cheers
Garry

The early model genuine rotors for the 4 piston brembo's will not take the 6 piston brembo caliper but if they have been replaced with later model discs or have a DBA rotor then they will be fine. The correct 6 piston BA calipers with the correct bracket are about $1450 a side.If you are not to fussed about the location of the caliper and it is a street car then buying the FG Brembo kit with plain rotors for $2000 is the better option and i will put in BA braided lines instead of FG ones. The rotors you can keep to use later or sell as they fit all the models.PM me or ring if you wish to talk about this further.

I can't believe you got 250,000 km's out of a pair of those rotors but we can supply the 5000 series in the XS's for $1090 a pair.

Only rotors were quoted so pads will be seperate .Brembo 4 piston pads start from $185 a set and brembo 6 piston pads from $225 a set although we can supply dearer and cheaper of these products it just depends on the quality you want and the driving conditions you need them for.

Besides the different mounting position are there any differences to fitting this kit to a BA/BF with the FG brackets, as in braking performance?

mac_man_luke 30-08-2010 06:28 PM

want these so bad, just cant justify it!

Not that we have seen or our customers have noticed. The only thing besides the mounting position is the fact the caliper pistons will run large to small and not the other way round which means you may get some brake pad taper wear which generally can happen anyway.

Doesn't wanting something so bad justify everything :lol

Just for everyones sake as we have been asked this question alot lately. The brake kits with brembo calipers include all parts (calipers, brackets, braided hoses, brake pads and disc rotors) so they just bolt straight up and pad/rotor upgrades can be requested at additional costing thankyou.

I received my kit on Tuesday, thanks very much for the quick despatch of the goods Matt. I also ordered Project New brake pads for the front Brembo calipers, they arrived today. Going to get a mate around tomorrow evening and fit to the F6.

For those that want to know what the 6P/4P kit looks like with DBA4000XS rotors I have taken a photo of my kit. As Matt said the kit comes complete with calipers, brackets, bolts, pads, brake lines and rotors.

After having driven a F6-E with this brake package I just had to have these brakes. The kit from RBS costs around 80% of a factory optioned Premium brake upgrade but you get to retain the existing 4P Brembo fronts, rotors and the larger PBR rears.

For what it's worth I'll be using Penrite Syn brake fluid. I have it on good authority Penrite Syn is manufactured in the same facility as AP Racing fluid but a fraction of the cost.

Looks good but thats just my biased opinion :lol

XRDRIFT 16-10-2010 01:32 AM

Very nice looking set up indeed, will be looking into a set up soon when the car is back from the panel shop, and once i can find a set of rear staggered rims that will clear the 4P brembo's....

Hi Matt,

As I understand these kits will not fit under the XR50 grey 19 inch factory rims? If that is correct, is there any sort of high performance brake option like Brembo that would fit? I believe it's only out by a couple of millimetres....

Nigel

Nigel i am not 100% sure if they do fit or not but we a compiling a list of wheels that are fitted with brembo's etc on this forum so people can have easy access and choice when needed.
If i had a wheel of yours we could posibly make a kit for you if you like but the price would be dearer as we have to go to a two-piece disc with a offset change in the hat and bracket as well.
