S197 GT500KR Mustang.
Didnt know much about them until i did some googling. Seems they are quite rare. Would be on my dash camera. But it was identical to this, may have had different wheels possibly. ![]()

Not sure if this one had them, i seen it as i went by. But it could have had em also.
Kool car though. Come to think of it, the front bumper may have been different to the picture i put in here also. The rest though looked like the OG version of the research i did.

Was at the Stihl dealer today, parked out front was a jacked-up Holden Kingswood wagon in classic 70's brown. I assumed it was something the owner had built himself, but apparently these were a put together by a low-volume engineering firm in Tasmania.
https://www.streetmachine.com.au/fea...den-overlander ![]() My father's best friend had a HJ Kingswood wagon, white, 3-speed manual, the 173 engine, a set of Cragar chrome wheels and a dual exhaust system. I'm fairly sure it was his first car from the late 70's / early 80's, which he basically ran it into the ground before retiring it in about 2002. I spent many hours in the back of that car, so comfortable, sounded great. I particularly loved the wind-down window in the tailgate. That Kingswood was replaced by a 1985 Fairlane with the 4.1 six and painted in that horrible (Olympic?) gold colour Ford were extremely fond of during that era (my grandfather had a '86 Telstar in the same colour). He'd be still driving that car now if it wasn't written off in an accident. He then replaced that with an AU II Fairmont sedan, which is also being ran into the ground. Try doing that in your modern Kia or MG.

Overlander was a pretty popular modification, I remember a brand new conversion next to us at the Richmond airshow way back when I was a kid.
My first car was our ex factory managers car I bought from my fathers company, a 77' HZ Kingswood wagon came with all the bling accs.

EL Futura in decent condition, then in the same carpark a little later an EF XR6 in rough condition. But it had a body kit that still had the towbar cover piece - rare as!

I saw an FC delivery wagon ( no rear side windows ).
It was dirty, heavy patina, looked like it had been buried then unearthed. Cruising with the tailgate window up. Cars you dont see anymore though?.... today, 2 days later a very tidy FC delivery wagon. This one was a beige colour with some classy red signage painted each side. No time to snap a pic unfortunately. |

Been trying to pin down an elusive silver B series Ford panel van I keep seeing around Benalla for a picture.
Special order coroners car I believe.

My old neighbors family friend was a big morris guy. He would restore and sell them. He had 2 early ones that were his keepers. The concourse resto one was a 1949 only modification was front seatbelts. His 'hot rod' was a 51 or 2 with a 1275 from a morris marina and a celica 5 speed box in it. That one could get up to freeway speeds eventually. Morris guys are a different breed

I call BS on that.

Got me thinking with the Jeep and Chrysler thread.
Not a fan of these...but PT Cruisers, what ever happened to those. Been a long time since I've seen one. Wonder if anyone considered them as collectible or if in fact there are PT clubs around. Curious... Always considered the PT to be the first modern times "nostalgic" reproduction of an older style, similar to what Mini did later along with Fiat and several other manufacturers.

On Canberra ave today saw a wrecker truck with an XW, XR and XD stacked ontop of each other.
None of them looked beyond saving prior to being put on there (farm fresh). Was tempted to chase him down.
