Ford Reduces Fiesta Prices

September 6 2012

Ford Australia has reduced recommended Fiesta prices across the range
Side curtain/thorax and driver’s knee airbag now standard in CL
All Ford passenger cars now achieve a 5-star Australian New Car Assessment Program rating

Ford Australia has reduced the prices of its acclaimed Fiesta hatch range.

The entry Fiesta CL manual now has a Manufacturer’s List Price*1 (MLP) of $15,490; the LX manual $17,790; and the Zetec manual $20,490. This represents a saving of $1500 for the CL, $1200 for the LX petrol and diesel and $500 for the Zetec petrol and diesel.

The CL has also been enhanced with the standard inclusion of side curtain/thorax and driver’s knee airbag as standard, as well as a seatbelt reminder.

Previously this safety equipment was available as standard on the LX and Zetec but was a $600 “safety pack” option on the CL.

With the safety upgrades to the WT Fiesta range not only does the whole range now receive a 5-star Australian New Car Assessment Program rating but it brings it into line with the entire Ford passenger car lineup, which is 5-star.

“Our Fiesta customers clearly value safety as a priority,” said Ford Australia general manager marketing, David Katic. “So we’ve responded by making the Safety Pack standard.

“The Fiesta is a clear example that a safe car doesn’t have to be heavy or large. Fiesta has it all; safety, good design and dynamic driving character that our customers have come to expect from a Ford.”

Since going on sale in 2009 the new-generation Fiesta range has earned rave reviews for its design and dynamic driving style. The highly equipped Fiesta comes standard with a range of features, including Bluetooth®2 with Voice Control as standard.

It has also earned credit for its advanced safety. Last year it was named the first light car to earn a “Top Safety Pick” from the United States Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

Fiesta’s energy-absorbing body structure is optimised for strength and stiffness and designed to absorb and redirect crash forces away from the passenger compartment.

Segment-busting safety
The Fiesta body shell is well equipped with a range of safety features to help protect its occupants in the event of a collision.

Fiesta offers a driver’s knee air-bag, developed to help reduce lower leg injuries in the event of a frontal collision and to work together with other safety features. The knee air-bag joins a suite of Fiesta safety features including dual-stage front air-bags, side-impact air-bags and side curtain air-bags.

Also standard on Fiesta is Ford’s Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), which uses sensors to detect and measure yaw, or side-to-side skidding conditions, by monitoring vehicle speed, throttle position and steering wheel angle.

When the DSC senses wheel slip, engine torque is reduced and braking is applied where needed to help the driver keep the car tracking on its intended path.

myFord Capped Price Servicing
The Fiesta range is also included in the myFord Capped Price Servicing program, under which Ford publishes the maximum price a customer pays for a standard A or B logbook service for an eligible vehicle at a Participating Authorised Ford Dealer.
