Marko Grows Up With The Ford Territory

February 10 2011

Remember Marko the Ford Territory boy?

His sad face was etched into the memories of TV viewers last year when he appeared in two Ford Australia-commissioned advertisements for the Territory SUV.

The advertisements proved so popular with viewers of all ages, Ford Australia brought Marko, 10, back to help launch the new Territory.

His mother Natasha Stanisavljevic said Marko was excited to be involved in the design reveal of the new SUV.

"We still get people asking if he's the Territory boy, so it's exciting to be here for the new Territory," she said.

"I think what made the original Territory ad so special was that Marko was so natural.

"He takes direction well and looks great in front of the camera and is also very calm.

"This is particularly important for children as working on a commercial shoot can be quite complex and often involve long days ."

Marko has been making commercials for two years now and both his brother Tommy, 7 and sister Sara, 11, are also involved in the business.

"They love the experience," Natasha said.

All three children are on the books with Melbourne-based Ripley Management Australia, one of the country's premier talent agencies that represents talent of all ages up to 70-plus years and specialises in "interesting" and "character" faces. These are people that the everyday viewer can relate to.

Ford Australia General Manager Marketing, David Katic, said Marko was a natural fit for the design launch of the new Territory.

"It's a good-looking family oriented SUV and we're very pleased he was available to help launch the exterior and interior design elements of the new Territory," Katic said.

"Marko and his family personify the desirability of Australia's only locally built and designed SUV."
