That also meant that the GT Mustangs would now cross the "Luxury car tax" threshold, again adding to the "on-road costs".

Not only were the dealers offering huge discounts, but for example, which I also got;

- Free scheduled servicing for 3 years or 45,000 kms. So basically the 15, 30 and 45 were free... A saving of at least another $1,000 or so.

- $2,000 worth of genuine Ford extras free.

Then there was the announcement of Ford in May of the new 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty.

All of the above made it a "no-brainer deal" for many people from a financial perspective.

$56K for a MY17 GT versus $73K for an MY18 GT + $1,000 servicing + $2,000 extras = $20K savings!

$56k for a Mustang built last year, bear in mind. i.e. effectively 1 year old.
