Yep - I am from Furphy Country, but not all have it, I think the early ones actually made for WW1 don't.
Furphy's are still steaming along, still with a Furphy in charge, still Aussie owned, but they have a reputation around town for using a LOT of 547 Visa people instead of employing locals
Many people don't actually know that Furphy is a family and a business, they just think it is a tall story. I have met people who were astonished that there were a family of Furphy's
As for the beer - YUK!!!!, but the manufacturers pay a royalty to the Furphy family for the use of the name or they have some agreement in place - The Furphy family don't own the brewery
