Default Re: Fiesta Zetec - Dash warning lights, light up like a Christmas Tree

I had a friend recently with a Chrysler 300C that made the 'possessed' transition. New Alternator and Battery. The auto trans would hunt for gears, the interior displays went wonky, the car would stutter and go into what felt like a limp mode, the wipers turned on by themselves.

It may not be the ultimate cause, but it sounds like the first place to check - whether you're getting 13.8 to 14.4 volts out of the alternator or not.

But wait - no power steering? How is that related to electronics. Aren't they hydraulic? Or is yours a model with electric power assisted steering (EPAS)? If it has hydraulic power steer, could this be a massive belt slip, and it's your belt tensioner that is frazzled? Otherwise if it does have EPAS, we're back to the alternator. Or a ground strap. Ground straps get everyone.
