What you've mentioned here is the first thing my wife noticed a day after we bought the car. The corner of the carpet in that footwell was just hanging there.

Don't want to spoil your day but sit in the rear seat passenger side and note the exposed steering column where it goes into the floor. That's cheap! |
Don't worry I had noticed that too. If you are getting your car serviced at Sinclair Ford check out their TDCi for the trim cover. Looks very neat. I want one!
