If it was just about the mortality rate from Covid 19 your in-laws might have a point.
The over loading of the health/hospital system is a huge concern if the number of infections get out of control.
Then it will not just be mortalities from Covid 19, it will be people dieing of curable conditions because there are not enough beds/health professionals to look after them.
