You don't have traction control and its unlikely to be torque limiting in the
ecu affecting it in second more than first, look elsewhere for the problem and see if you can clarify exactly what the problem is.
And yes Traction control became standard on all Fairmonts from AUII on.
It is switchable so its not a problem
