Any government worth half it's salt should be looking into oil independence from the Middle East to stop us being bent over the barrel (pun intended)
Remember when we had cars that ran on LPG from the factory floor?
Or look at Brazil and it's ethanol fuel that competes with regular dead dinosaur juice WITHOUT any Government subsidies.
In this day and age with urban Melbournites and Sydneysiders being eco-warriors you could market a change to ethanol and LPG fuel as a green initiative while building oil independence from the Middle East.
E85 would be an easy way to reduce carbon emissions hugely - we'd have to look into getting the existing fleet on our roads being able to use it.
Alternatively let's get involved in another war in the Middle East and make my Raytheon shares go through the roof
