New crankshaft bolts are supplied with a blue hreadlocker.

It's a thermoplastic material.

It softens at higher temps (260deg C) and hardens at lower temps.

Therefore: heat the bolt or run the risk of breaking it.

I don't see how spraying WD40 could help, as one poster on Talkfork suggests.
It would cool the bolt.
