It's a tragedy what happened to Miles but I just love the story about the GT40 so much. USA powered, brit engineered (and Miles did so much in getting it right), and some great Kiwi drivers taking it to the top.

I've always respected mclaren, hulme and amon for talent and bravery (getting into the drivers seats of death traps), and of course being noted on the world stage as good enough to be hired for that job. It's hard to imagine USA and UK bosses paying attention to some sort of NZ 'blow ins'; must of been hard to get their seats over a USA, UK or european driver yet here they were, 3 of them in the top 2 finishers.
