We’ve done heaps of cruises... Was our “standard getaway and relax” outlet over the years... Many South Pacific ones, from 10-15 days.
A favourite was “Rock the Boat” These are once a year music themed cruises with live music in all parts of the ship most of the day and night. Rock the Boat 4 was Aussie bands and entertainers (apart from Sweet from UK)... Molly Meldrum was the MC and acts included Sweet, The Angels, Daryl Braithwaite, Mental as anything, The Choirboys, Richard Clapton, Jon English, Russel Morris, Angry Anderson, Vicky O’Keefe etc etc!
Brilliant stuff, not just seeing them perform, but eating, drinking and socialising with them!
Another fantastic cruise we did was a 18 day Mediterranean... Barcelona, Italy, Greek Islands, Malta, Turkey....
In my opinion, cruising is the best value and most relaxing vacation you can have!
You can do as much OR as little as you like!
One tip I’d suggest is pre-purchase a drink package! Will save you heaps, and much better than getting a rude shock at your bill on the last day!
Another tip is do your homework on each port and book your tours privately! (On board Cruise ship tour prices are criminal!)
Oh... One more, if funds permit... go a balcony cabin!. Sea breeze and sound of the ocean is magic!
