set up an alert on gumtree, they will eventually try to sell them.
Report it to Police. Yes, you want to be notified if they find them, but there may also have been a spate of such thefts in your area.
Push back on the transport company. The amount of theft that goes on in the industry is staggering, most of it is opportunistic, and yes, you just described the perfect scenario.
